The new domain sales report is out at DNJournal.com - a double-length article featuring two week's worth of data (following postponement of last week's column due to a hack attack). Domain sales exploded over the past 14 days as the industry enjoyed what may have been its best fortnight of 2005. There was a trio of 6-figure sales and no less than 34 domains that cracked at least 5 figures! Business was brisk in all extensions and all domain categories. This week's leader was a $120,000 Spanish keyword domain. On the New TLD front there were eight 4-figure sales including one of the ten biggest sales reported thus far in 2005.

Read all about it here: Trio of Six-Figure Sales Triggers a Fabulous Fortnight for Domains

On a personal level I want to thank all of you who sent or phoned in information and offers to help with the hacking incident that occurred while I was traveling last week. I'm sorry there were so many messages I didn't get to reply individually to most of you but I truly appreciate the time that you took to share your knowledge and support. Since I got back, I have been tied up with the new sales report and a new cover story that will be out this week, after which I am going to focus on the information you've provided me and consult with others who are working to apprehend the person responsible.

Oh I understand that education is a money maker and universities spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to promote their universities

Just looking at the whois information that it might now be used as a college site :\

Maybe snapcheck.com is to "blame" for the spike in sales....?

Glad to see the sales report back up. Gives me something to read in my "office"
