I own two domains I acquired through a company purchase. What should I expect to get if I sell them?

treesaver should be worth low to mid $x,xxx sale to the right party, end-user contact could bring success with these keywords, multitude of uses too.

Try to avoid reseller price for this domain, enduser awareness is key

woodsaver.com reported to sell for $1,900 in 2013

good luck with this one I'd like to see it go to a good cause ....

I'm your man for this answer. I grow and sell trees for a living. It's worth $5K to $10K but the industry companies are very cheap when it come to domains. You can probably sell it for $3-5K to an enduser. At Namejet it will fetch a few hundred dollars. I bought trunk saver in the com for $12 at auction and protecting the trunk is a much much larger industry. Tree wraps and sleeves. Hope that helps a little

thanks for your opinion.
It's an old domain that hasn't been used for years. I was thinking about more of a Scotts/miracle grow type company could use it but having trouble connecting. Domains are not my thing so I just want to dump it for the best price.
There are a lot of tree conservation type organizations out there that could use it.

I agree with you on trunksaver. Seems like a no-brainer for the auto after market. Makes me worry...

where should I sell it/them?

Like I said, the ag/plant industry is known for not wanting to pay any decent money for domains. And saving trees would only be good to a company that sells a product that kills some bug or disease that kills trees. Or something along those lines. It's going to be a tough end user sale and the only company I'm aware of is Bayer Chemical. But good luck getting them to buy it. Have tried several times and I have inside connections. Best of luck

Anything that replaces wood would fall into treesaver. Like metal frame studs, non wood roofing, aluminum siding.Anything that doesn't use paper, or recycles it. This is really an anti wood/tree name

These guys came to mind. A great product on shark tank that I always thought could have used a better name. They are a smaller business, and active on Facebook. I imagine they'd be easier to contact than Scott's Miracle Grow.

Though, if you're interested in Scotts Miracle Grow, or a larger company, it'll take a lot of time and emails. Auctions will most likely get you lower but quicker "enduser" prices, unless you email bomb potential endusers about the auction going on.

Interestingly enough, my father works with a family member of the scotts miracle grow founding family. Though, they're not actively involved in the business, and it's not my place to gage their interest through a family friend. The point of mentioning this is if you dig deeper into the company, you can eventually find somebody with purchasing power with the company to negotiate. LinkedIn is a good resource.

If you've watched every episode of Shark Tank, and still need more... try Shark Tank Australia.

They're on their second season, and it gives a really interesting perspective to Americans on global business. Not just Americans, but Domainers too. As a lot of these start ups have .com.au domains, and they have visions of global commerce.

thanks for all the great advice. I checked out the Tree T-Pee guy and product and it would make a good fit. Ironically I've done the Canadian version of Shark Tank (Dragons' Den) three times. I have to say the U.S. version is much better than any others from around the world.
