Transparent Background.

Im working on a few images that *need* transparent background due to the fact that it must be placed on various colors of backgrounds on the website. When I save the file as a .gif and place the images on a darker background you see a white blury border around the image. Any tips on how to remove this?

Save transparency value black or dark color. BUT, you see gray blurry border around the image when the background is bright color. First your background have to be set dark or bright color range.

Everyone loves white halos around their transparent GIFs.

Unless you're willing to use everyone's favorite non-IE compatible PNG format, you're probably going to have to edit your image to remove the semi-white portions and it will look a bit jagged around the edges.

You could also consider using 24bit PNG images (full transparency channel) with the hack fixing the improper transparency display in IE6.
