I've attached your image with transparent background. It could be cropped to the icon size only, but I assume you may need this particular size without cropping it.

I've masked the icon with a rectangle mask, leaving the background transparent.
With more complicated shape, the method would be different.

When using Photoshop you could do this:

-Open the file.

-Double click on the layer in the layers palette on the right hand side of the
screen by default.

-Click OK on the box that comes up.

-Use the magic wand tool and click on the white or whatever color background background.

-Hit Delete on your keyboard.

-Then Hit Ctrl + D on your keyboard.

-Then...Hit Ctrl + Shift + S on your keyboard and select CompuServe (*.gif) in the File Type dropdown.

-And select the location where you want your image to be saved.

Your done ;)

Thanks but i now have a problem, if i set the Opacity too low then layers just dissapear when saved to a gif file?

If you look here - http://www.milztech.net/forum/

I want the file i have attatched now to look faded like it is there, but with your transparent background they always stay solid, and then just dissapear when opacity falls below 50.

unclick the background layer, save as .png-24. That way it takes a little longer to load, but the transparency is clear and the quality is preserved.
