What's the best (easiest and cheapest) way to sell a domain if you already have an interested buyer and how do you transfer it to the other party and receive the payment in a safe manner?

As above, and if you really trust the buyer (do your due diligence on this one, forum background checks, verified, confirmed addresses, etc) and it's a lower priced transaction, you can use PayPal - particularly if you require the buyer to pay via Paypal Masspay.

Note that Paypal protection for transactions involving intangible (non-physical) goods & services, such as domain names, is pretty limited. Caveat emptor!
