I have a few domain registered at itsyoudomain.com where I used to be an affilliate many years ago. Now I want to transfer my domains out to a different register. However, whenever I try this I get a message back saying the transfer was blocked by the current register. I have emailed itsyourdomain.com but they don't reply. Any suggestions?

Not much you can do at this point except continue to pursue things with itsyourdomain. I know it's a hassle sometimes waiting for a reply from uncooperative registrars.

If the domain is locked at the current registrar, this won't work. You have to get it unlocked first.

Rincewind, maybe there's hope if you have the patience to wait until November 12th. A new transfer away policy goes into place for all ICANN accredited registrars.

Will your domain name expire before Nov. 12, though?

I have untill 14th Dec before any domains need renewing. I'll keep pestering itsyourdomain.com and hopefully by 14th Nov I'll be able to transfer out.

Well it's quite a bit past the 14th Nov now. I have tried to transfer form itsyourdomain to enom but enom says that the domain names have been locked by the current register. Anyone got any suggestions as to how to force this through?

Can't force it, you have to unlock it from your current register.

If they won't comply, threaten "all appropriate actions" and see what happens.

Why do you want to move it anyway? Cheaper reg fees elsewhere? If it's only about the hosting, just change the nameservers.

there is no way to force through unfortunately.

most domain control panels have a lock feature, login and check it out see if you can find it, if it's ticked then you can't transfer it, if you untick and wait a few hours then it should be fine, unless of course the domains you got were free then it would be down to the registrars discretion.
