Transfer money from bank account to PayPal

If I want to pay somebody and there's not enough funds to pay the person with the current paypal account, can I transfer the money from the bank account and pay the person immediately? or do I have to wait until funds are settled in paypal?

If you have a bank account set up, I am pretty sure you don't even have to transfer, Paypal will do automatically.

If you make a payment using paypal
and you don't have enough in there,
it'll take what's left then request (automatically)
the balance from your bank.
This way you can pay right away.
It usually takes them less than 2 days
to hit your bank.

i am prob wrong but i always thought before you could do "instant" funding from your bank account you needed to have a backup source of funding ie.. a credit card also tied to the account

maybe it is just an Aussie paypal thing? or maybe im just to tired to posting lol

im pretty sure (was years go i set account up) i had to verify the bank account and credit card, and if i didn't add a credit card i wouldn't have been able to do instant transfers as they wouldn't do an instant transfer from a bank account unless there was a back up source of funding

but i am Australia, my account was set up years ago and im half asleep (could be wrong)

If you want to have transfer from an account that is not connected to Paypal via a credit card i would suggest setting up Escrow with bank wire transfer.

I believe as long as your paypal account is verified you can do instant transfers straight from your bank.

Here's an update:
I didn't get a chance to try as I had received the funds from another sale (enough to cover).

Although, I'll probably fund my paypal through bank beforehand, I'll update it again if I ever try in the near future

Does this mean it's possible to pay for something using PayPal instantly without having the funds already added to one's PayPal account? I thought the only way this can be done is to pay by eCheck, which some sellers do not accept.

i have a bank account and credit card tied to my paypal and quiet often i have no funds in paypal and i can pay instantly as it uses my bank account as the funding source BEST i can tell the transfers are not instant so paypal relies on the fact that i have a credit card tied into the account also

Paypal takes it within 48hrs from my bank account,
but I can buy what I'm buying right away, instead of the wait

What you're referring to is the Paypal eCheck feature. I've done it once. The money is deducted immediately from your bank a/c & takes about 3 working days for it to clear in the receiving party's account. Once that's cleared, that's usually when they transfer the domain to you.
