Hi all,

I have a handful of domains that I snatched up not fully understanding trademark issues regarding Internet law.

I am not going to park and monetize or sell to a trademark holder, but I can still list them for sale, or is that considered monetization of another parties trademark by a 3rd party?

For example, I have:
technics-turntables.com
technics-turntable.com
technics.toyko
mastercoaxial.watch
omegasmartdial.com (although they have not completed specific trademark but it is still Omega)

thanks for helping a noob

Hmm,

I would drop them all. They all have possible trademark issues and it is obvious that you have registered them knowing this. I do not want to be a fun killer, but I think you might risk a UDRP or even a lawsuit.

Thanks I will do so. I didn't understand cybersquatting when I reg'd them. Of course I knew they were relevant to those industries, but I did not have any idea it was illegal. I thought the Internet was still the Wild West!

Thanks dropped.

Does anyone know where I can learn more about what is and is not trademarked...generally speaking besides searching the Trademark sites.

e.g.

spaceshuttle.com is a no brainer, or is it?

what about?

kepler.com
hubble.com

I have metas.watch domain.

Swiss government-operated entity is METAS. They help to certify watches. Don't make a product.

Good move on dropping them and starting fresh. The best way is to look it up in the trademark/ copyright sites. The more you filter through these type of domain names you will develop a 6th sense for them. A good rule of thumb is stay away from any domain that has a company name in it. The only ones that you can get away with are certain first and last names if they are common and certain general terms.

There are many general keyword rich terms available in 2 word .coms for you to filter and find. Stay away from all trademark stuff.

Thanks will, I see what you mean. I picked up a few 2 word .coms to add to my list of about 100 domains.

polemelt.com
stingthing.com

Working on Flippa now but trying to see how to quick flip; I guess I should become a paid member here.
