Okay, this is going to be complicated.

Of course we know that some of you are Epikoholics. Being addicted to Epik is perfectly normal. Unlike the crazy learning curve, and constant frustration with their code, server speeds, constant errors, and especially Epik's geeky approach to their so-called simplicity.

We don't want to criticize Epik again. As much. We just have to include them. Epik seems to be everyone's popular domain name registrar, after all. Here we go...

...

Shockingly enough, even our favorite name.com is well below NameCheap, and NC is definitely much better than Epik.com!

(Epikoholics, before you freak out ... have you heard about this concept called a different opinion? Good. Now breath out. Thanks.)

...

The first few minutes have been amazing. NameCheap.com's site is crispy, clean (overcrowded but clean anyway), AND SUPER FAST!

Our second impression will be added soon. We want to test quite a few functions and buy several products and domains. We cannot wait to use cryptocurrency and see how that goes. Overall, their site is absolutely incredible. 4.8/5 for now.

We only wish (knowing that Epic does offer more functionality) that...

EPIK WOULD MERGE WITH NAMECHEAP.

The new company would keep all the designers of NameCheap and all the ideas and functionality of Epik, but NameCheap would be give more voting rights so the new site won't end up looking like a 2010 one.

Imagine that!

Oh, one critical point about Epik:

Their sign up button is in the most weird place ever. We understand that they want their customers to simply choose stuff, stick their chosen hosting package or domain in the cart, and sign up organically. For those people who want to play around and see if they trust the site first, the location could not be weirder. Especially since the page and all right-hand-side options are so crowded. Not a biggie, though.

Comment, like, subscribe.

Kidding. Simply comment. You would have done it anyway, right?

We definitely want to know what you think about NameCheap and Epik, and about your other favorite registrars.

Please do educate us, we're new. Speaking of that, we will be celebrating our first month as domainers tomorrow. On Sep 28 we had no idea this industry existed. Now we know it exists. It's cool and mad. We like the combo!

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
A quick update:

Epik CS truly rocks. They helped us while we were buing with/•/info and their CEO Rob did whatever he could to assist us. Just today we noticed their escrow team had already transferred the domain to us - BEFORE we paid for it.

Their site still needs a major facelift and their "Everything is fine, maybe - come back later to find out" notifications suck but at least their customer support is well above average.

Big thanks to Sarah and, of course, Rob.
