I do not doubt that they occurred. I am just not certain that the list is complete. I was not the one to compile it and many folks believe a lot of higher-end .tv names trade privately and quietly.

Link: http://www.ultimatebet.com (".COM" same as the ".TV", IMHO).

Link: http://www.pokernightlive.co.uk (".CO.UK" same as the ".TV")!

Link: http://www.viceland.com/project/ (forwards from "Vice.TV")?

Two others ('top two $$) were purchased by same individual, directly from Verisign (through the Verisign-owned GreatDomains.com website)? :gl:

Who purchased SEIS.tv & Tipp.tv ... (neither resolved for me at time of post)? :talk:

Thanks much for the insight.

Was seeking information/clarification(s) - where the ?'s were posted in my post above, and in IMHO providing observations, as well, with the three provided links. Seeking others' open thoughts and comments with regard to "Top .TV top 10 sales price v. other domains". :gl:
Appreciates.

BUT DID REG FOR ONLY $30 on a goof on .tv's part

Congrats!

Who did you sell it to (was it an End user with a developed site to be forthcoming, if you know)? :talk:

Appreciate any insight.

There is really no strength in that market though, number of 5 figure .tv sales was 4, compared to 9 for .us and 6 for .info, below 5 figures I suspect .tv does a whole lot worse. Then again the .info and .us aren't exactly strong either. As mentioned above by another member of the 4 sales, the top two were bought by the same speculator.

speculator.
Thunayan K AL-GHanim speculator or one of the biggest DOMAIN holders on the planet?

AND .tv is not a domainer extension does not cater to the domainer reason why names are priced like they are focused on end users. A DUTCH Company recently regged men and women.tv for $ xxx,xxx

ANd please everyone don't get caught up in the mental masturbation that is the pissing contest of my preferred ext is better than yours. FIND your niche and develop it and if you have the only high sale in that extension great for you because at the end of the day that's what matters NO one here touting their extension is going ot pay your bills if you are not making any money. IF you have a great sale in .cx do you care that .cx is not popular? NO because this is a personal business with many choices find your niche if you can find some Like minded people to help you great But unless you form a corporation $$$ wise you are on your own so if you have an idea go for it DON'T worry what anyone else says. Especially those that can't tell you of any LIFE changing deals they have done . IMO

Of course he is a speculator, and obviously .tv is a domainer extension just like any other, there is a whole forum for .tv here. What is with all the words in capitals?

Well SINCE I know Thunayan rather well I assure he does not consider himself a specualtor, since first off he has no desire to sell any name in any extension.

No .tv is not a domaier ext if you are what most define as a classic domainer then the .tv extension is the wrong one in speaking to Verisign about .tv and their pricing one first things they said we are "not a domainer extension"

THere is awhole forum ,yes I know Iwas the catalyst

What would be the purpose of say registering thousands of random 3 letter domains with no traffic if the purpose wasn't speculation?

I'm really not following you, speculation in .tv is rampant, who cares what someone at the registry wants to claim?

Snoop, if you say as he does say (he will never sell any domain, referenced in both personal conversations and in his feature story in DN Journal) then I think I would call Him a collector he calls himself an artist and he has been building his OXIDE network for the past couple years so these domains all fuel that along with the high profile names like Media.com and KIDSTV.com etc...

Speculation is not rampant comared to .com or .us or even .info and the traditional doaminer principals of flipping names, PPC and high volume sales do not apply to .tv most "domainers" are not spending $500 for a bottom level Premium domain like Joke.tv or SEE.tv they are more for developers and SEE.tv is a great site GOOD job JOHNTV.

I would simply say it is less used extension, hence generally lower sales, fewer ppc opportunities etc, the speculation motive is no different to other extensions.

True. Who cares what .tv corporation says?

But the fact that .tv is not domainers extension remains true. It is not like a .com where you can buy a .com for 8$ bucks and flip it for 25$. Or buy well thought .com and ask appraisals and try sell them few thousand dollars just based on the appraisals, LOl, I see that right here at namepros.

But if you talk about .tv, well, first of all, it is not cheap. You got to think twice before regging a .tv because for that price you can get 4 .coms. At the same time, you can not flip a .tv the next day for a little profit. The reason being .tv is just getting up. Because of these two reasons, you got to think and see for development ideas or options before regging a .tv
Now if you reg a .tv name knowing that if you can not sell or sit on it for few years, you got to develop, then certainly it is not for domainer but a developer.

So, .tv is not a domainers extention but good for developing.

My 2 cents, IMHO.
