ccTLDs in general.

there is a lot of traffic and $ waiting to be registered. I wouldn't waste time with quasi ccTLD's (.eu / .us etc) though.

focus on your established ccTLDs like .de .fr .es etc. just make sure you know the location, language & legalities.

I am bias, we're heavily invested in cctlds (.fr in specific, 20k name area,) but ccTLDs get traffic and make $.

3. .tv - "Premiuming" the top .tvs is REALLY hurting this extension, but with online videos all the rage, I think .tv will see some more popular sites in the near future. It and .us are the easiest ccTLDs for Americans to remember. :)

On the contrary, premiuming the top .tvs was a great move even though my pockets don't quite agree with them. No hogging of the top names, and definitely encourages development. :)

.cn underrated? :o

.SC and .VC are underrated in my opinion (look below) :hehe:

Eh, keeping them premium and out of almost every entrepreneur's budget is exactly why they've been sitting there NOT developed. It's hindered .tv development extensively IMO. Only as the extensions value slowly rises do premiums here and there get registered. I sold a premium in Feb that without a doubt would have been taken many years ago and likely developed on or sold to an end-user by now, but it took until Feb this year for it to reach an end-user. I'm sure most regular joes don't even know about the premiuming...they just see the name not available in their GoDaddy search and move on.

Hmm, makes sense. But those serious about developing would have checked enom.tv no?

Great topic! .Pro leads this category, without question. Do I have a vested interest in .Pro's future. Absolutely. I manage two primary portfolios. One consists of some 1500 Macao and Macau related domains. The other consists of about 350 .Pro properties. :imho:

From your sig, I'd say you have a superb .pro portfolio. However, I really think .pro is overrated, not underrated. I base this on the fact that most .pro second level domains are registered either in violation of the .pro registry agreement or are technically owned by Encirca who was the first (or only?) registrar to skirt the real .pro rules by acting as real registrant and holding the required dual professional qualifications. Until that fact is cleared up either through a registry contract modification or approved by ICANN, I don't think .pro will see the true growth it could have, and have real sustained value that a major company would invest in. So far registrypro and ICANN have both turned a blind eye to the situation, but they could have a change of opinion at any time making .pro as obscure as it was before Encirca first sidestepped the rules and created a secondary market. So far it doesn't look like things will change, but you never know what might happen when the contract comes due. :imho:

.info
.ca
.us
.tv - wish i has more.

anyone who develops .ca and sees as I do - 40-60% American traffic you know why it's underrated. And some day soon the Americans are going to catch on to their own tld - and when that happens -watch out.

I think if the registry rules weren't so tough, the .ca would
be kicking all the other ccTLD's butt's :hehe:

But then again - if they weren't so tough, I wouldn't own some
of the ones I do, they'd have been gone years ago
