Hello friends,

I have seen many people here buy domains for PR.

But I have one thing to tell before you get scammed by some scam artist.

Never ever buy a site purely based on its PR. Bcoz PR can be for any keyword. Even for a keyword that is not searched for more then once in whole month. :D

Here is how some guys fake their PR.

So whenever google bot comes it is directly redirected to google.com itself which has High PR. And when a normal user comes he goes to the site. And no one even smells anything fishy about it.

Now here is the trick to detect the fake PR.

Type www.sitename.com into Google then look at the cached page. The cached will be the page of that redirected site. Which in our example is google.com itself.

So you know that this guy was redirecting the google bot to which site. :D

Yes, Google actualy seem to be trying to kill off pagerank a bit now, i think with all the fuss about updates they are putting them selves at risk of getting sued for not giving people the ranks they want...i know they dont control each sites rank, but thats how its getting to be.

It wont be too long before they stop updating it i would have thought...they have sloed down on the updates now...big time.

Not sure that stopping pagerank altogether would be a good strategic move for Google. IMHO it maintains a good buzz and PR exercise for them.

Maybe they will just replace it with a different method, but not have anything at all would only help their competitors - Alexa?

My bet is they are almost done with developing something new to replace the current PageRank system.

Ok strange to say you have pr for keywords though its pr for a whole page and pr also doesnt affect rankings much.
