Hello,

I received the email from the company owner that claims one of my domain due to his trademark application has just approved. It's 2 word .com domain name i registered 3-4 months ago actually not for selling but this time was to build website for somebody that i know which just published book. Book name includes the 2 word .com domain, and book was published after his trademark application.
He applied to trademark before i registered the domain and book publish and not sure exactly when he got approval but let say before than me. However, my intention was to build website on it for the purpose of book advertisement, and i checked his trademark subjects has nothing to do with my subject as well.

So, can he get the domain from me if he tries to get it?

Ok i have built website on domain. Put the cover of book and some passage on a website. And company called me and asked me if i can give the domain since they have trademark. And I told them, why they didn't register the domain in the first day when they have applied to trademark.
Then he said if he can cover my expenses and find some way to get it. I told him i never thought of selling it. Then he asked my email if i can write my response that he wants to show the email to his manager. But in fact he has my email already on whois that's how he approached me. I told him i will not respond to any email.

But now if i want to sell the domain how to approach? If i ask some price on email that would be bad intention? or ask on the phone? can he record phone call and use it as bad intention? how much he would need to pay if he goes to court to get the domain from me? which is best price to ask?

Any experience share would be appreciated.

Bullshit. He's collecting an email for his attorney to use as evidence.

You should be clear about the truth, and tell them that the domain name was acquired for a development project you have undertaken for the person who is selling the book by that title, and that the subject matter of the book has nothing to do with the goods/service for which they claim trademark rights. Period. End of story.
