    Hello and Assalamo Alaikum,

Using Escrow.com for many years, it’s been overall a great journey with very little issues here and there. But that’s part of life and it happens. Anyone using Escrow.com must have dealt with buyers who sometimes try to show that are newbie in terms of using Escrow.com and they have no prior knowledge about using their service. There could be many ways to find if the potential buyer has been a regular buyer but I wanted to share a new way which I’m sure most aren’t aware of it yet.

Simply login to your Escrow.com account and try creating a new transaction by clicking Sell button as shown in below snapshot.

    Click Continue:

Now in below snapshot, I have entered sample Transaction Title but correct E-Mail address of Buyer and you must enter the correct one as well because that will show at the last step whether buyer already has an account with them or not.

Enter any domain such as testing.com and click Continue.

As you can see in the below snapshot that with next to “Buyer” field, it’s showing a name and email address which confirms the buyer already has an Escrow.com account. If someone has not opened account yet, the name and email ID won’t appear next to “Buyer” field. After buyer will create account, his name through which he opens account either with his own name or company name and email ID, it will appear.

It’s a little useful trick to outsmart your potential buyer by checking this way in advance. Kindly note that this will neither let buyer know about this check nor the transaction will be created. You may simply close the page at the last step in case you are just checking it.

Have any of you tried this before? Did you found it useful? Feel free to share your comments below.

Hmm nice. Would be impressive to say to potential buyer in outbounds after you get their email from clear it to say

"Awesome.com is available for purchase $10,000,000.99. I see you already have an account at escrow.com and you already own 12,000 domains. Wonderful! So shall we call it a done deal? Will that be cash or charge or bitcoins?"

Yeah I do that at Escrow.com to see if they have made previous purchases so I know they won't abandon the transaction when Escrow.com makes them jump through hoops on ID requirements. If I don't see they have used them before then I withdrawal that as an option and send them to http://escrow.payoneer.com where I don't have to worry about the buyer getting pissed by Escrow.com and not completing the sale.

Hmm, sparedomains, that seems a little extreme. Only had one newbie buyer frustrated by how long escrow.com took to clear his payment and he still performed/closed escrow.

When the ID verification became necessary, Escrow.com took literally seconds to verify my ID and such, did it right while I was online chatting with the rep. Took a bit longer to verify my corporate docs, but most of these newbie buyers are individuals.

I associate payoneer with other services, where they may help with situations that do not have to do with escrow.

Waalaikum salam, thanks for the tips :xf.smile:.
Escrow.com now reducing their minimum transaction fees from $25 to $10 and from €25 to €10. I received the email from them yesterday.

I hope your happy with the 17 clicks your website got with this, as escrow has now closed this loophole, this information is now deemed worthless. Somethings are better left unsaid, or left for private discussion.

That's not my issue if they have fixed it. I'll keep sharing what I think is worth sharing.

figure of speech, many have known about this for years, but just kept quiet about it, or discussed among themselves.

Indeed. I always considered it as a feature (not a bug) which might be useful in some limited circumstances. Most notably because in good old times one could not imagine the following reality:
I am unsure whether escrow.com will gain more business as the result of closing this feature. It may well be that those sellers who still considered selling through them if and only if the buyer already is escrow.com customer will no more consider selling through escrow.com.

It helped in situations where people identified themselves in regards to being poor, or naive when it came to domains. Sometimes the email would turn up a blank, but when inputted in would show the business name, not everything has to be yelled at the top of your lungs to all. This industry has to be careful, information is power, and it has to be communicated in an effective manner.

This is the problem with domaining today, people think it is about easy money, a quick buck, tell your friends about this circus show, it is not true. It is the same as building a real estate portfolio, or an investment portfolio, it takes huge upfront capital, years of vesting, and if your lucky you start getting a ROI, and hopefully your assets start appreciating in value as well.

Leave the tips, and tricks for the circus clowns.

What you're saying is essentially what I've been saying for months, but still...harshly said, bro. No need to take it to that level.
