Tightening the rules suggestion/s

I was perusing the rules and regs over at DP the totherday and thought what a good idea some of their rules were..

Our system has automatic signature guideline enforcement. Currently the restrictions are:

Up to 250 characters
No more than 3 lines
No more than 4 links
Images are not allowed

Signatures and live links within posts are not available to users until they have been a member at least 7 days, have positive (green) reputation and have at least 10 posts.

I have 10 posts, but my signature still does not work.
There could be two different reasons for this. ..

If your 10th post was very recent, it might not be in affect yet. The system checks for users that need to be "upgraded" once an hour (on the 25th minute of the hour).

You need to be a member for at least 7 days.

The forum has a reputation system that allows users to add or take reputation from other users (you can find details on how it works by clicking here).
If your reputation falls below a certain level, the system automatically revokes your ability to have a signature and live links.

If your reputation returns to being above the threshold level, the system automatically restores your ability to use live links and signatures.

Good idea but if you dont have 10 posts then its likely most people wont see your posts and links, and there are very few members with negative rep on these forums who i have seen

Yeah - I have no problem at all with "automatic" signature rules being embedded , I find it to be one of the things people Ignore the rules on a lot.

It wouldn't bother me to lose the images being used in them as well - The rules state "No images" but we seem to allow the little ones built in to VB to be used in them Mark hides from the Stone Throwing Savages

Im installing this on VB as we speak (if only I could decipher how)... :lol: So many options blinking options...
