Those using Wordpress...HELP!

I'm using wordpress for my blog. After doing some SEO for my site, I started receiving spam comments/permalinks. So I disabled comments & permalinks. But I somehow still got them (in moderation queue).

I'm not bothered by them much, even if I get a minimum of 5 per day. I'm bothered about the constant page errors that's sent to my email inbox, e.g.

Link error, bad link, 404 error, etc. I'm guessing it's those spam bots causing such problems. How can I deal with them? How do you guys deal with them?

I think those error mails is coming as you might be using some 404 notifier plugin or error reporter sort of plugin. If you can't control the spam by akismet try using Bad Behavior

i'd try using akismet first. i'm using it and i'm not getting any spam comments at all.

Yup use Akismet. It should do the trick.

Askimet is great. You could the code for free if you set up a Wordpress.com blog. The code given to you there can be used on an unlimited amount of blogs.
