IMO, insurance companies are scam companies out to make money on your fear that something bad might happen. When something bad DOES HAPPEN they try to find every excuse in the book not to pay you.

home insurance, auto insurance, and especially health insurance...there needs to be some MAJOR changes

I don't mean to sound insensitive but unfortunately the policies stated floods were not covered, thats why there is flood insurance. I'm sure a lot of people just couldn't afford the extra insurance or weren't aware of this, but there's a reason insurance companies don't cover floods, and after all it is a business. It just sucks their business is preying on people's fears.

although The Equivocate is correct about what was covered by these insurances I have to agree with your sentiment Isis.

I remember hearing the story of the first life assurance policy that was granted. The policy was a fixed term policy. The person who took out the policy died within days of the policy running out. However the assurance company had an ingenious way of getting out of the policy. They decided instead of a year being365/366 days it would be classed as 52 weeks buying themselves 1-2 days for every year the pan had been in place. Having that time that no longer counted they had manage to make it so that the life assurance had expired.
