If you are like me then you like to be totally in control of every single aspect of your domain names. At Moniker there is no way to turn off auto renew on your names. There are many times I don't want to renew certain domains or maybe I want to wait until the last minute to make the choice etc.... Many times names have renewed that I didn't want anymore so I wanted to stop it from happening again.

For those that want to be in control of the renewal process themselves all you have to do is log in and proceed to payment methods and change the expiration date and/or the 3 digit cvv code that is on the back of your card. Once these are changed the card becomes inactive. Every time you want to renew something then just login and switch these to the correct numbers and process the payment for the names you want to keep.

Unfortunately this is the only way to be in total control of your renewals at Moniker. Luckily I don't have many domains left at Moniker and once I transfer those I out I am finished with this company once and for all.

I don't see anything that says that you can't change autorenew. There's a dropdownmenu for every domain. (NOTE : IMPORTANT IS ALSO THAT YOU MAKE YOUR SCREEN 90% big instead of 100%, so you see things much better.

In any case : don't attach a creditcard to your account!.
There's another way. You DON'T ATTACH A CREDITCARD to MONIKER or YOU REMOVE IT. And you choose paying by wire transfer (or Paypal), and in the future you simply pay by Paypal.

You change for the domains what has to be done ("autorenewal at expiry" or so) into "deleting after grace period" or "deleting at a expiry". = see dropdownmenu.
And they will delete at that time (in fact going into redemption period). as simply as it is.

IF YOU DO WANT TO RENEW A DOMAIN : YOU CHANGE from "deleting after grace period" in "renew immediately", and you put just before only just enough money with Paypal (that can take 15 minutes) for the renewal.
(but no creditcard may be atached, or some automatic mumbo jumbo may indeed happen).

You can't turn off auto renew. If you link Paypal to your account it will charge it. You can choose to be charged 10 days before expiration or day of expiration but you can't turn it off completely. You can't remove a credit card unless you add another credit card. Changing date and cvv code of your card keeps them from using it.

You can't turn off auto renew.
Huh. I've been turning off my auto renews for a long time now with the drop down menu - "deleting after grace period" as Domainstore noted. Don't know why you can't but.., cie la vie.

you can set your names to "delete after grace period", so they won't renew

there is also a bulk option as well.

imo...

I don't set it like that just in case I want to keep the domain. If you set it to delete after grace period then it deletes after that time. I sometimes don't keep the names but sometimes I do and i like to extend the renewal period as long as possible without worrying about the name deleting.

Why are you all still at Moniker?

Just asking...

Have just 1 name at moniker, guess was lazy to move it out lol but had name which was about to expire and there's no Renew button like other sites.. Was driving me crazy, finally I called and got a similar response to what hookbox said. The guy tells me make sure the credit card info is correct and it auto renews, you can't manually renew.

It was not like that before that's for sure...

I used Moniker a lot when I started domaining, and still had a couple of names there in 2013, but stopped doing so after being tired of seeing that any simple task was a headache.

I once had to wait three days to push a .co I had sold.

Their support was unresponsive and incompetent.
