I like it, don't know how much of a resale it will have but domains like that scream for development, even minisites.

I have about 50 or so third level names (.net.in /.org.in) , see the first post in this thread for the info, but I buy them for the keyword strength and hope they cover reg fees with minisites.

The only third level sale I've heard of is voip.net.in for $1k, which was a pretty good sale imho.

I know absolutely nothing about these places. I don't understand if guys in India even use those words or characters to search- for all I know, they're all spelled incorrectly and I just completely pissed away $75. I don't understand anything about this shit. I don't even know if I actually own those names, since Mitsus site is so bizarre and complicated to use- it doesn't have a simple "My Domains" section, as best I can tell, where I can click one button and all of my names are displayed...

If my registering of those names was a massive fail, I consider it part of international domain buying tuition. If I did just buy a bunch of relevant ccTLD's for cities with population 1mm+, hooray. I'm walking around my office with a confused look on my face, not understanding what I just did. I feel like a disoriented airplane crash victim.

Exact searches aren't as important as commercial viability.

Gift has very high advertiser competition, gifts search and ads will also reflect. Personals though more of a US keyword, we use matrimonials here, but with the online population getting younger by the day, dating and personals will get more important.

Rest, its your money, even my regs are a risk :p

Overall, I'm hoping it wasn't that bad of an effort. Obviously, the Indian megacities (Dehli, Bangalore, Mumbai, etc) were taken in all extensions, but of the 42 cities in India with a population over 1mm, I got just shy of half represented. Each has decent local and global search volume, with surprisingly decent click prices.

Maybe I'll start nosing around and try to 'complete the collection' and get one of each. It would be kinda of awesome to own one pure cityname.IndiaTLD for every place in India with over 1mm people :D
