Thief betrays himself to get free beer

BERLIN (Reuters) - A German phone thief led police right to his front door when they called the stolen mobile to say he had won some free beer and he willingly gave his address.

"An officer called and said, 'You've won a crate of beer'," said a spokesman for police in the eastern town of Neustrelitz Friday.

"Then he asked where he lived so he could drop the beer off, and the guy told him. I think the man was drunk."

So either he was drunk at the time, or just really really stupid haha. What a fool.

It sounds about right what people would do to get items. I know in California the police task force would do sting operations to pick up people who had warrants for their arrests. So they would call them and tell they won tickets to the Super Bowl or something. And they would come in droves to the place. They had shown it happening a few times on the news. I was just die from laughter. Same thing with this guy.

They do that in the UK as well - McIntynes investigations or something

They set them up as a contestant on a gameshow and convince them they have won a fortune then the police come :lol: :bah:
