Apparently, there will be a Godaddy.co Girl revealed around Superbowl time.

In the comments of your link and in comments I have seen in NP Shakira has been touted as the .co girl, this does not make sense to me from the standpoint of branding .co as a global alternative.

What do you think?

Hi Sunny,

Well yes and no, IMO. Shakira is a global superstar (she sang the theme song of/at the 2010 World Cup and her songs have been known all over the world for years). With Shakira, the "Colombia" factor is irrelevant. She is known internationally more as a "brand" than being from Colombia.

A lot of people think a "link" to Colombia is really not that important for .co. At the end of the day, I think they will do just as well with other celebrities.

Will be interesting to see what they come up with.

I had one domain at GoDaddy, only bad experiences with their support. Since then I have been using Name.com and for European extentions a few local ones. Never really looked back at GoDaddy ever since, so this may explain this question:

what is a "GoDaddy Girl"?



I don't like GoDaddy :bah: but I love girls

Confusing emotions now...
