I am on the fence with this name. I certainly understand how the "The" can detract from the value but part of me feels that the "The" gives the new owner authority...I am TheWeddingCaterer. (like the one and only).

I have marketed this name to several companies with a Buy It Now price of $479. Nothing.

So now I ask you...What do you think about the name and what would you sell it for?

Thanks in advance,

Greg

Maybe a caterer does not want to be considered as only working for weddings, what could be implied by the name...?

So if you have the time you should develop the concept a little and build a website with some advice for choosing a caterer, feedbacks from customers, and commercial links to web-sites of some caterers you may have concluded partnerships with; the whole website would be worth something good. :)

Otherwise hold and hope. ;)

This is a local company type deal. Almost ALL will want to do business by word of mouth and referral so Angie's List and memories are always going to be more important.

"AFirstName"WeddingCatering would be better always I think.

Isn't catering managed by venues? I'm not sure how much business there is. Nearly all catering I've seen was for the pre-wedding dinners and showers etc. etc.

The "THE" also kind of kills it for me. It's sort of egocentric when you're supposed to be deferential.... it's all about the bride remember :)

All in all it suffers from being generic in a market that needs to have personal touch. Iin the generic sense it would be weddingcatering (no one can be that generic as a single person).

It's a nice blog name though for someone who wants to take that aspect on. $100?
