Perfect call, and the Mexican counterpart was grateful
"Muchas gracias Presidente Trump"

Contrast with the creep who showed up at G-7

The Mexican president was very cordial and professional, meanwhile Trump says, "Hello Enrique" Enrique who? Trump just made a deal with Canada, lol. Perfect! :xf.laugh::ROFL::xf.laugh:

There have been many restrictions imposed, traumas and obstacles to overcome ie. broken treaties; racial segregation; forced relocation; forcing children away from their families; substandard living conditions and education; residential school horrors; imposed religion; police targeting; dispropotionate incarceration; corporate destruction and pollution of land, water and air; recovery from addiction; gang warfare; insidious and systemic racism etc. etc.

You are describing the actions of government in most cases. The rest may also be indirect results of those actions. Seems to completely support what I said.

Why is it that trumpers are so adamant against immigrants?

Just because non-Trumpers endlessly say that doesn't make it so. Let's not confuse the desire for reasonable immigration controls with being anti-immigrant.
Many immigrants also supportTrump. I think this is just another baseless accusation that gets repeated as fact ad nauseam.

You're grasping at straws, unearthed a 3 years old video of The President calling another President by his name, what a desperate little prick you are.
Trump addressed Mr. Nieto concerns regarding Canada during the call, he said that the best thing he can do is to tariff their cars. Is that what are you loling at?

I'm not disqualifying that, it's been mostly government and church, partly societal, but things are changing. Everybody has to own up to themselves (at least).

Good point. There are degrees of difference. We come from different tribes.

Nah, I just thought it was a funny video related to Canada, oops, I meant to say Mexico

There is a definitely a trade deficit with the two countries in assembled vehicles and parts, but components and parts manufacturing have not been displaced by imports. What's wrong with "Free Trade"?

Old data, but interesting because it was from around the time of that comment: https://fas.org/sgp/crs/row/R44907.pdf (fig.9-10, p.12)

There is more to unfettered free trade than we can argue about here, but I think we can agree that it's not the best solution for the environment - I pick on this aspect since I know it's of most interest to you. There of course is the human exploitation aspect too, but let's stick to environmental concerns.

From the NAFTA and Motor Vehicle Trade link you posted, the same page with the figures, consider this for example: "a vehicle assembled in the United States has more than 10,000 parts that come from multiple producers in different countries and may travel back and forth across borders several times. One company producing seats for motor vehicles, for example, incorporates components from four different U.S. states and four Mexican locations into its products, with final assembly in the Midwest". By your stance against fossil fuel usage this is not environment friendly at all - not that I'm against fossil fuel, we've talked about CO2 before, but I bring this up just for you since I know you're against it.

From other sources, NAFTA's Impact on Mexico [Sierra Club], "According to Mexican government figures, the cost of NAFTA-related environmental damage in 1999 alone was an estimated $47 billion".
"Despite an anticipated rise in pollution levels, NAFTA did nothing to strengthen Mexicoโ€™s environmental protections. In fact, enforcement of environmental protections declined noticeably after NAFTA, and is often ignored by both corporations and the Mexican government."
and
"The weakening of environmental standards by NAFTA has also caused the increased use of chemical intensive production methods in Mexicoโ€™s large commercial farms. These methods include the use of harmful pesticides and fertilizers that pollute land and water resources. Specifically, they contribute to high soil salinity, ground-level ozone, lake and river acidification, and the disruption of natural forest processes."

To sum it up, you can't have free trade if you don't have the same set of regulations in the participating countries - including environmental ones, and expect things not to go downhill from there, as in just creating entropy if you will.

Good answer. I'm not against making stuff, far from it, I manufacture and export custom car parts to the US myself. I've just been taking a break, thanks for reminding me, I've got a bunch of orders to fill... time I got back to work, lol. :xf.wink:

If the G7 has it's way, "sleds" like cars will all be taxed to the point middle class will be unable to afford them. They want Canada and USA to be mirrors of the EU.

No doubt we have different ideas about what freedom is, just like we have different ideas. For instance, I just sold my sled for $XX XXX cash, no receipt needed, why? Trust. Also, the buyer doesn't need to register or have a permit to drive, so there's no government tax, no license needed, no safety course (not even a helmet) is required, nor insurance for that matter. Why? Trust. Nobody is going to steal it and people use common sense when driving. And since everything is covered in snow in the winter, you can go anywhere, travel 1000 miles in any direction without worrying about speeding tickets etc. Hell, my sled does 0-100kph in 2 seconds :woot: and tops out at 100mph! Try that down south (not on a race track)
