The continue to rise because people can't follow simple guidelines. And it is mainly Trumpers that struggle with this.

Trump rallies most didn't follow guidelines.

Biden/Kamala did

One got cases and deaths, one didn't.
Weโ€™ve followed guidelines for months. Note that when numbers were decreasing here the governor said it was because of policies she put in place. Now theyโ€™re spiking and you want to say we arenโ€™t following protocol lol!

Businesses here are closing left and right. Everyone wears masks, even outdoors in some cases which is ridiculous.

People are losing homes, businesses, sanity because of a bullshit lockdown. Itโ€™s on the dems watch...

Wish I could have walked with Neil Armstrong... and you?
CNN is always wrong too? Man, I have a lot of learning to do. Who can I trust? Teach me!

Like... walked with him in the TV studio where it was filmed, right? Don't you know that was a huge Democrat conspiracy??

Do you find it odd that Fox and CNN are always pushing opposite agendas? That tells you that neither is honest.

So how do you know what to believe?

Yeah it's tough to find that perfect balance. Some have done better than others. Canada is struggling too.

I don't envy our leaders right now, trying to make these decisions with imperfect information and people's lives and livelihoods at stake. I doubt I could do any better!
I agree... not easy for any politician, but some get slammed 48 hours a day while others get patted and kissed all the time!

You have to do loads of research these days.

All media is literally controlled by a handful of billionaires. Their main goals are to get ratings which accumulates wealth and power.

Take Twitter for example. No one can deny that they blocked republican based posts while pushing democratic posts forward. In a time when dummies rely on social media for news thatโ€™s a huge problem!

This isnโ€™t N Korea. For a candidate to suggest something to all vs kill folks if they donโ€™t obey is apples to oranges.

You seem not to understand the point.

If a presidential candidate says "I don't like Taylor Swift" then they are likely to lose support among Taylor Swift fans. That's simply how politics works. It doesn't have anything to do with "coercion" or speaking to one audience versus another.

People are people. Some are afraid of the virus and some are not. Some chose to vote via mail in out of fear and some didnโ€™t. To say that dems are afraid of Covid or were coerced by Biden to stay home, at a disproportional rate to republicans, is an absurd position to take imo.

I'm really kind of amazed that you don't seem to understand that more Trump voters are of the anti-mask, "virus is a hoax" position than Biden voters. Campaigning on "the virus is nothing to worry about" was pretty much Trump's platform. It has nothing to do with being "coerced".

There is nothing "absurd" in differing views of covid between Democrats and Republicans. This was measured many times over the course of the year:

4. More Americans, particularly Republicans, deny the death toll of the pandemic.

  • Almost a third (31%) of Americans believe the real death toll of the pandemic is less than the 135,000 officially reported as of mid-July. A similarly worded question in early May found that a quarter (23%) said the official count inflated the actual toll.
  • Republicans (59% from 40%) and people who get most of their political information from Fox News (61% from 44%) are the most likely to say that the real number of deaths is less than the official count.
  • Democrats (61% from 63%) continue to mostly believe the real toll of the pandemic is greater than what has been officially reported.

Trump actively made fun of people who wore masks, and frequently made fun of Biden for having public events where social distancing was enforced.

Perception of viral risk was a stark difference between the candidates' messaging.

Why don't you address my other hypothetical where I have people line up for drive-through voting, and I take hybrid cars through one lane and gasoline-powered pickup trucks through the other lane. Do you think there is any "coercion" involved in the fact that, yeah, I'm going to get different percentages of people voting for one candidate or the other through those two lanes?

People's beliefs influence the choices they make and the behavior in which they engage. That's not an "absurd" position.

On balance, Biden sought to attract voters who believed that the viral pandemic risk was higher than the president let on, and Trump sought to attract voters who were less concerned about the viral pandemic risk. There is simply nothing surprising that people who were more concerned about the viral pandemic chose a method of voting that does not involve potentially congregating with other people.

You have pointed to no evidence to support your belief that voting method was not influenced by voter beliefs about viral risk. Although I assume you will simply say that the unambiguous result above (which is not within a few percentage points on either side) is simply "fake".

You guys keep saying that, but no one has been able to produce examples of liberal-leaning tweets that contain blatant misinformation from politicians or media figures.

You don't understand Joe.

I realized how biased I am the same way.

I have yelled at my dog ten times for peeing on the carpet.

My dog recently pointed out that I have never yelled at my wife ONCE for peeing on the carpet.

So, my dog has decided I've been really unfair about yelling at residents of my house for peeing on the carpet.

You do realize that hospitals were given incentives for deaths or treatments related to Covid. Of course theyโ€™re going to game the system.

So yes, itโ€™s a hoax. Not in the sense that the virus doesnโ€™t exist but in the sense that itโ€™s such a killer that we canโ€™t live as normal.

I know about 20 people whoโ€™ve had Covid. 1 died and he was in his 80s. The other 19 or so had a fever and moved along quickly. To shut down the country over this is a disgrace.

You realize you are proving my point, right?

As with Mr. X above, you don't seem to want to focus on the point here. I'm not making some point about who is "right" or "wrong" about covid.

The fact of the matter is that people who are going to toss out phrases like "bullshit lockdown" are going to be less concerned about going out to vote than people who don't consider it "bullshit". That is reflective of a difference between Democratic voters and Republican voters which is going to be reflected in a difference in what method they chose to actually cast their votes.

The people winning the election are not complaining about fraud so it must not be happening. Great analogy.
