@sonatime - what part of Canada did you say you are from? I see you that you have been drinking from an extremist cesspool, hopefully never to be in my part of Canada. And if you care to
step into the deep dark forest again, I will be there, with my chess tomahawk sharpened
Peace out!
Cannuck, don't judge me for where I live
kidding but how can my views be compared to be gotten from an extremist something something
I think we could agree on the problems that are manifesting themselves in society and then try to understand the causes. But we have to be careful what we propose as solution because it may have unintended consequences sooner or later.
In crony capitalism business interest unload losses or costs on to the taxpayers and privatize gains. And policy enabling that or corruption should be criticized. But how can one want to redistribute someone's income or wealth. That removes the incentive to be productive in society and incapacitates further entrepreneurship and investing. Capital honestly achieved can benefit everyone, it can result in local investment, jobs, opportunities etc. There is no substitute for creating an environment of freedom where people pursue their own interest in cooperation. In capitalism, when a transaction is made it will benefit both parties that is why it is productive and peaceful. In socialism you are forced into choices and government will never deliver a service more efficiently than competitive private sector.
I don't want to repeat myself too much. You don't feel that socialism and everything left is glorified and anything pro individual freedom is labeled as crazy?
Would be interesting to hear specific problems and what you ideas could be implemented to resolve such. I don't know much about the Indian Act in Canada. But if it is like anything in US then you could see how welfare system is meant to enslave people rather than help them develop and prosper.
Was trying to find a documentary from US about a Reserve that had one of the best standards of living but was most poorly funded, without casino and gambling revenue. There, the people had no other option but to help themselves and created one of the better standards of living. Maybe it is not that interesting but if I see it again I will share it here.
