My son is in Little league All Stars. They are invite only teams. There is a girl that mysteriously made it on the team. She is not good at playing and there is a long line of boy players who would like the chance of playing, but she fills a roster spot.

The boys, who want to play, are not allowed in the softball league, which the girl also plays in.

Recap..... GIRL makes it in a boy dominant league because she is a girl. At the same time, BOYS are not allowed in a girl dominant league based on their sex.

All of this justified by "EQUAL RIGHTS."

Ironically, there is nothing EQUAL about it.

I’m pro equal rights, but I believe in living it not whining about it.

Putting someone on a team to make some imaginary quota is NOT equal rights and does nobody any favors. Least of all the girl who won the spot. And it builds resentment in the other teammates and reinforces negative stereotypes of women. Bad all around.

If she was good and deserved to be there on merit then that would be another story.

I was pointing out a double standard that I am "living" in, I am not "whining" about it. Just merely pointing it out.

Also, the girl did not make it on merit. Far from it. Meanwhile, a roster spot is filled by her and boys that could play, based on merit, are sent home.

All of this is due to the socialist movement shoving policies they call "equal rights" down our throats. Again, I'm not "whining" as we hired Trump to shove back. It's not "whining" its winning......Have a nice day!

I didn’t say YOU were whining, and I essentially agreed with you that the girl didn’t belong there and that putting her on that team was a bad move.

I’ve been studying and later working in male dominated fields since I was 18. I am “equal” on merit and never felt the need for some special program to give me special consideration. I earned my way into corporate senior tech and leadership positions by being very good at what I do. And later in a new career and my own business. I’ve never had a problem getting equal respect, and I didn’t stay long in places where I wasn’t paid accordingly. End of story.

So my perspective is that when someone gives a girl like that special comsideration, they aren’t helping her. And your reaction is exhibit A for why doing that, even if we’ll intentioned, is actually damaging from an equal rights perspective.

Instead of putting unqualified kids on teams just because they’re girls, teach the girls self confidence and self respect. Teach them to compete and BE equal. Save the battles for where they’re needed - harassment or companies that cheat female employees out of equal pay for the same work.

Gotcha!........Yes, I also have a daughter and this example is damaging to her future. I want her to be promoted on merit, not her anatomy. She wants the same.

There are always exceptions to the rule but girls can't compete with boys because they are weaker and slower.

Even in football it's not a problem before the age of 9 or 10 because teams can compensate. Probably less the .05 percent of girls who can complete safely with boys after 10 years old.
