I know it's tempting, but you Trumpites may want to hold off on using that snowflake app, 63red - whoever coded that POS is beyond clueless about app security.

Some deep insight from Trump:
Airplanes are becoming far too complex to fly. Pilots are no longer needed, but rather computer scientists from MIT. I see it all the time in many products. Always seeking to go one unnecessary step further, when often old and simpler is far better. Split second decisions are....

President Trump on Tuesday went after New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) after the state escalated its investigation into the presidentโ€™s family business.

โ€œNew York State and its Governor, Andrew Cuomo, are now proud members of the group of PRESIDENTIAL HARASSERS. No wonder people are fleeing the State in record numbers. The Witch Hunt continues!โ€ Trump tweeted.

Trumpโ€™s rebuke comes one day after New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) issued subpoenas to two banks for documents related to Trump hotel projects in Washington, Chicago and Miami as well as Trumpโ€™s attempted purchase of the Buffalo Bills football team, according to The New York Times.

He was really on a roll today. Those plane tweets were classics - let's take away all the modern advances that make air travel safer!

(That said, the 737 max should have been grounded until it was fixed.)

His budget plan has a paid family leave proposal- yay! Oh wait - it's "paid" because you take money from your future social security benefits to pay for it. So paid family leave now, eat ramen noodles and work 'til you drop later.

"I love the poorly educated!" - DT

Yeah, not a good day. He's up past midnight, 12:30 tweeting still. He's stressed they're looking into his personal finances. He knows he fucked up.

California governor to put moratorium on death penalty
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Reuters) - California Governor Gavin Newsom will impose a moratorium on the state's death penalty on Wednesday, granting reprieves to all 737 inmates on death row and closing the state's execution chamber, an administration source said.

Newsom, who on Tuesday night hinted at a "major policy announcement," plans to sign an executive order setting the changes in place on Wednesday morning at the state capitol, the source said. No death row inmates will be released, said the source, who declined to be identified.

California's death row is crowded with inmates, many of whom have been there for decades. Newsom is expected to say on Wednesday that he believes capital punishment to be costly and burdensome, and unevenly meted out to minorities and offenders with disabilities, the administration source said.

"I do not believe that a civilized society can claim to be a leader in the world as long as its government continues to sanction the premeditated and discriminatory execution of its people," Newsom plans to say on Wednesday, in remarks seen by Reuters.

His order will withdraw California's lethal injection protocol, which has been challenged in court. It will not affect inmates' convictions or their imprisonment, other than eliminating their death sentences, the source said.

My 2 Cents: (which is worth nothing)

I am against Capital Punishment.
I don't believe Man has the right to take a life as punishment.
But to take a life in self defense (if your life is on the line) or to save another life I believe is acceptable.

Instead of Capital Punishment I prefer life in prison with true Hard Labor Punishment.
Like, Rock Pile 12 hours a day outside in all the elements.

I don't believe that the death penalty ever really deters criminals from doing their crimes.
It's mostly a waist of time and money.
Appeals go on for decades costing the states as much if not more money then it would cost to just house a prisoner for life.

There has only been 13 prisoners put to death in Calif since 1976 and with 737 inmates on death row, think of all the time and money that is being spent on appeals for 737 inmates.

If not Hard labor then at very least put them in true solitaire with No link to the outside world, no TV or Radio just them alone with their thoughts.

Punishment for these types of crimes should be just that.....Punishment!

What is your 2 cents?

Too much news today.

US will ground the Boeing 737 Max after its second crash in five months

Trump continuing where he left off last night, trying to make the case for himself on Twitter, just rambling on - https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump?lang=en

Manfort will die in prison. State charges, where Trump can't pardon him:

Paul Manafort is sentenced to a total of 7ยฝ years in prison for conspiracy and fraud, and charged with mortgage fraud in N.Y.
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/poli...th-mortgage-fraud-in-ny/ar-BBUI7bY?li=BBnb7Kz

Then even more charges, looks to be different from article above. One was Washington judge, this is from New York:
New York Charges Paul Manafort With 16 Crimes. If Heโ€™s Convicted, Trump Canโ€™t Pardon Him.

I'm ok with it but I do understand people being against it.

First off, the person should be 100% guilty. I'm talking a combination of witnesses, admission, video/audio tape, DNA etc. Not 75%, 99%, 100%. I know there have been times where it's been found out innocent people have been put to death.

Taking a life in self defense, of course. I think most people would agree with that.
So, we can kill somebody based on what we think they will do to us. Somebody tries to kill you, if you have to kill them to save your life, ok
But if somebody actually kills somebody, then that changes to no, I don't think it's ok to kill them. I know the reply to that would be in one case, there is imminent danger.

I don't understand the waste of money part, didn't Google it. If you're meaning court cost? Because I figure a lethal injection is a 1 time cost. Housing, feeding, medical care for the rest of their lives would seem to cost more.

Mental issues, is a tricky one. There are times where people literally have no control of themselves, have no idea what they're doing. I'm not ok in those case. There are others deemed to have mental issues, that actually plan stuff out, example below. They plan, they execute the plan, they run and hide, they're devious etc.

The example I'm talking about was in the news just yesterday, Ted Bundy, who was executed:

DNA test confirms Ted Bundy responsible for Utah teen's death
https://www.wwlp.com/news/crime/dna...-responsible-for-utah-teen-s-death/1845239041

Another confirmed murder. He actually escaped custody not once, but twice, to kill even more people. I'm fine with him being put to death.

I also take into account not only the victims, but those left behind, families, loved ones etc. I think it can be closure for many.

Seems to be those against it, don't like if it happens after the fact? But if somebody caught Bundy during these murders, ok.

Like I said, this one isn't a big debate issue for me, because I do understand some of the reasons people are against it.

Yes the cost of appeals, it was reported on CNN this morning that since 1976 the state of Calif has spent $5 Billion on repeated appeals on inmates on death row.

Ok this story made me laugh,

Nancy Pelosi Boots Mike Pence From His House Office
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has reportedly had Vice President Mike Pence kicked out of a little-used office that was given to him when Republicans were in control of the chamber.

Penceโ€™s nameplate was yanked from its position over the door at the direction of Pelosi, NPR reported. She plans to provide a new space for the White House legislative affairs team, which did not have an office under her predecessor, former House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.).

Pence still has an office in the Senate wing, where he serves as president.

The Hill confirmed that Pence was given the boot. โ€œRoom assignments are reviewed and changed at the beginning of every Congress,โ€ an aide told The Hill.

1) I agree with elimination of the death penalty. Courts make mistakes, corruption, etc.

2) We need to provide resource for reform as well as punishment. Even for people serving a life sentence but especially for people with shorter sentences.

Planes are o complicated: https://www.npr.org/2011/02/17/133804928/q-a-pilot-explains-flight-automation-safety

The Police and Attorney General are supposed to investigate crimes, not investigate people looks for crimes.

As always, following the mob.
