There are some so called democrats who’ve gone really far to the left. And a lot of the GOP seems to have gone to the extreme right.

Those are the ones who make the most noise.

Most people in the country, democrat independent and republican, are closer to the center.

FWIW, Yorktown Heights is the "cheap seats" of Westchester county. Middle class, not Scarsdale.

And depending on what you have, Bronx isn't necessarily cheap. An apartment, yeah, but a house will run you 400K-600K average.

Difference between that and Yorktown Hts is in Westchester you'll have a yard.

Yep, I have noticed a lot are jumping ship with thier party and either going to the middle or working thier way to the opposite party.

I love the United States and would die for her, our country will prosper again once we get through all the BS, we have a good ways to go , but we will get where we need to be, I am getting old now, so my main concern is that the younger folks and children get to live a good life in our country, the life I grew up in, a life that provides opportunities if one is willing to work for them.

We will get there, I have kept my faith in our country and will do my best to do my part to make our country stay the best and most opportunist country in the world.

I think a lot of the people in Washington that are jumping ship on thier party, feel the same way, I think they want what is best for our country, they are just unsure exactly what that is at the moment.

Imagine the tax savings if the US Govt remains shutdown and were downsized permanently with all the non essential workers out. Then private sector might hire the good ones.

People complaining about bathrooms closed as though its a major issue. The Sierra Club in their vast resources and money could step in and volunteer. San Francisco who pays those exhorbinant $180,000 per employee for human feces patrols, might instead send over some homeless across the state and employ them to clean up someone elses mess, those taxpayers on vacation. Then send a one time invoice to the US govt, nothing wrong with States pitching in.
