Unnecessary trade tensions, caused by a certain clueless “know it all” acting off the cuff and ignoring experienced economic advisors.

We have a new trade agreement with Canada and Mexico. Our economy is a multiple larger than CN's. You guys really need to stop pissing and moaning about every damm story you read.

BTW, Kavanaugh wasn't part of the decision to deny the emergency appeal of ND's voting requirements.

Antifa organizer is a School Teacher in Berkeley. No surprise, more rot from within the government.

The Berkeley Unified School District (BUSD) middle school teacher, Yvette Felarca, is a national organizer for a radical leftist group and last year Judicial Watch filed a California Public Records Act (CPRA) request to get information about her violent Antifa activism.

Felarca works at Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School and is a prominent figure in By Any Means Necessary (BAMN), an organized militant group founded by the Marxist Revolutionary Workers League that uses raucous militant tactics to protest conservative speaking engagements. In 2016 the teacher and two of her radical pals were arrested and charged with several crimes, including felony assault, for inciting a riot in Sacramento. Felarca was captured on video calling a man a Nazi and punching him in the stomach repeatedly while shouting obscenities at him. More than a dozen people were injured in the riot, at least 10 with stab wounds, and the capitol grounds suffered thousands of dollars in property damage. Felarca accused local authorities of a “witch hunt” and tried to get the charges dropped but in May a Sacramento County judge declined. A local newspaper story on the two-hour hearing quotes the judge, Michael Savage, saying: “The bottom line is this: There’s nothing … that shows that the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office planned to carry out any discrimination against the defendants.”

In January a separate judge ordered Felarca to pay more than $11,000 in attorney and court fees for her frivolous attempt to get a restraining order against Troy Worden, the former head of the University of California (UC) Berkeley College Republicans. The two political adversaries went head to head when Felarca led violent protests against conservative speakers that Worden’s group promoted at UC Berkeley. Felarca claimed Worden was stalking her and she got a temporary restraining order. Then she filed for a permanent restraining order. The Alameda County commissioner that ordered Felarca to pay Worden’s legal fees said her request for a restraining order “was not brought in good faith.”

I think some in the Democrat party want to be more like the Nordic countries, I think they're calling it Compassionate Capitalism. I understand those on the right wanting to use something like a Venezuela instead.

This:
"The Nordic countries don’t actually do much of those things. Yes, they offer government-paid healthcare, in some cases tuition-free university educations, and rather generous social safety nets, all financed with high taxes. However, it is possible to do these things without interfering in the private sector more than required."

Sounds a lot like what some Dems are wanting.

Even some of the slings towards Bernie was that he owned multiples houses. Again, sounds more like the Nordic setup.

Employment numbers are still going up.

That's great. Of course during the recession it usually goes up, went up to 10% last time. And has nothing to do with what was being talked about.

wanted to add. We have people here that live in countries with Universal Health Care, let's just ask them. Do you like it? What's good, what's bad etc.

Somebody ask Gilsan:

"Does Portugal have universal health care?
The SNS is characterized as being national, universal, general and free. It is national as it should be provided nationwide, although presently it still only covers Continental Portugal. It is universal as all Portuguese citizens and foreign residents have access to it."

Would he give that up in favor of a U.S. type system?

Bernie Sanders and Bloomberg disagree. It would be hard for them to institutionalize their plans but that doesn't mean they don't want to control the economy or how much money people are paid.

As a matter of fact, they're pretty up front about it.

Don't take my word for it. Listen to AOC explain it.

He's right. This is a correction caused by fed hiking interest rate. Shop for bargains next week.

Those questions were answered in the video, and Uncle Bernie's favorite girl AOC.

Not much of your post made sense.

Again, the stuff they want sounds like the Nordic type, you didn't post anything saying otherwise. Universal healthcare, some wanting free college, same stuff.

"Those questions were answered in the video, and Uncle Bernie's favorite girl AOC."

? They live in America, not other countries. I said:

"We have people here that live in countries with Universal Health Care, let's just ask them. Do you like it? What's good, what's bad etc."

Other people in this thread. Simply ask Gilsan, I folded him awhile back so he's not reading my posts. You ask him, how does he like the system in Portugal. What does he like, dislike etc. Get real input, no need to guess.

And the Nordic, they seem to be doing quite well. Even with all that stuff being paid for, still healthy economy.

Bernie and Ortez want to control:

Housing
Health care - Bernie's plan make it illegal to offer private insurance. Only supplemental coverage is allowed.
Education
Wages

How do you run a market economy like that?

I said more like the Nordic countries. Cortez is just a district - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York's_14th_congressional_district

They're not the only 2 people.

How do you run a market economy like that?

How does Norway do it? Seems well, people that live there, seem to like it.

It's why I want to ask people that actually live in those countries. Me and you don't need to guess at this.

How does Norway do it?

She's a "democratic socialist" running for a seat in the Senate. It's party platform. She'll probably be elected.

Not sure how Norway does it. They have oil revenue to offset the cost. Not sure how much of their economy has been nationalized.

Also, they have a small population.

Honestly don't know how Norway does it. They have oil revenue to offset the cost. Not sure how much of their economy has been nationalized.

I can't imagine anybody wanting to be like Venezuela:

Democrats denounce 'deceitful' Trump claims of Venezuela-style socialism
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news...ful-trump-claims-of-venezuela-style-socialism

I'm open to the health care issue tho. I think we should examine other countries and see what's working.

Let's start with Gilsan, I can't ask him. Can you? Let's just get input from people outside the U.S.

Anybody on this forum living in Norway, some other Nordic country? What's good, what's not?

Believe it or not, Finland is the world’s happiest country 2018

I have friends in Denmark - they’re happy with things there (though maybe not as happy as the Fins?)

I have friends/relatives in Germany, they're very happy. But we should all be Happy as a Finn.

88% of Finns, satisfied with their healthcare.

"The quality of service in Finnish healthcare is considered to be good; according to a survey published by the European Commission in 2000, Finland belongs to the top five countries in satisfaction: 88% of Finnish respondents were satisfied, compared with the EU average of 41.3%"

This is so pathetic:

"Massive overflow crowd tonight in Erie, Pennsylvania. THANK YOU to everyone who came out and joined us. Together, we are MAKING AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"

Talking about crowd size and in the 14 second clip............talking about the last election, his electoral win again. me, me, me, me, me, me..........

They said I couldn't do it, but I did it, see. It means I'm somebody. Why didn't daddy love me. At least you guys love me. At least Kim and Putin love me and write me lovely letters.

Meanwhile, as the Florida panhandle is getting decimated by Hurricane Michael, he's out campaigning, trying to cheer himself up.

Universal Health Care in Portugal used to be free, but 5 years ago, due to the crisis we have to pay a little, when going to hospital or government health centers. Just like the rest of Europe we have to pay higher taxes to get this benefit. Everyone is covered.

What happens here is sometimes you need to wait many months or even a year or more to have an operation. As an example a few years ago I was put on a waiting list of about 1.5 years for a cataract operation.

I opted to go to a private clinic, paid about €2.200 Euros and 3 days later had the operation.

However, if you have any health emergency or accident, you are attended right away.

As an example, about 14 years ago I had a heart attack and was immediately very well attended, spent about a week in hospital and didn't pay a cent.

The richer countries in Europe have even better Health Care, but are being strained by the millions of illegals, many of them arriving with various tropical diseases, or rotten teeth and even tourists from Africa, the Middle East and Eastern Asian countries, who soon after arriving seek medical care and then go back to their countries without paying the bill. Many pregnant women especially Nigerians and others from African countries also take advantage by arriving just before giving birth and then returning without paying a cent. The UK is a favorite destination for this rip off.

As a result, the the National Health Service of the UK has gotten worse over the years, thanks to all these foreign fraudsters, filling up hospital beds and forcing British citizens to wait much longer than before...

Jeremy Hunt: Immigrants are 'clogging up' UK hospitals
Immigrants who should not be entitled to free healthcare have “clogged up” hospitals across the country, forcing British people to wait longer for treatment, Jeremy Hunt has claimed.
