Unlike Germany, we have a lot in common with MX, including religion. Lots of people in the southwest have families on both sides of the border.

It would be a humanitarian crisis we'd be unprepared for. We can't even handle 10K people.

And yet countries like Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey etc have absorbed millions of refugees since the outbreak of the war in Syria. It's not easy and these are not rich countries, but they have to cope it somehow. Western countries are always complaining about immigration, but they are only receiving residual immigration.
They are certainly not being 'invaded' like the far-right narrative wants you to believe.
It's ridiculous that some (Eastern) European countries have refused to take in a mere 1000 refugees to relieve Italy and Greece, 1000 people is nothing, a drop in the ocean.

As long as there will be wars and unrest, immigration is not going to stop. Demagogues are not capable of solving the problem, they will only sweep the issue under the rug.

Sen. Nelson from FL learned separated kids were being taken to the Homstead facility. Folks who run the facility said he could come see it. When he got there, he was told he needed to wait TWO WEEKS for an appointment.

Why? Why can’t a congressional representative check on a facility our tax dollars are paying for? Sure makes it look like they’re hiding something.

(I think the local fire marshall should demand to inspect for safety violations...)

Has anyone gotten inside of a facility where girls or toddlers are yet?

This whole thing is reminiscent of the travel ban fiasco...

Who sent 10,000 children to a foreign country?

That's a very high % of unaccompanied children!! So where is the humanity of the parents of 10,000 children, that sent them across a dangerous border with the help of human traffickers?

I would never do that to mine... no matter what. Mind you, exactly the same is happening with all the illegals arriving in Europe. A very large % are unaccompanied children, even babies.

As an example, just a few days ago the boat "Aquarius" that has been used as a shuttle service for several years to bring illegals into Europe, against the will of the people, was this time finally denied entry into Italian ports.

It had gone to Libya to pick up 629 illegals, of which 123 where unaccompanied minors, 11 young children, 7 pregnant women and the remaining 488 were young men.
