Have me or you ever lived there? No.
There are good and bad places everywhere. There are places in America I wouldn't walk around in the daytime. Places falling apart, crime etc. To label a whole place as a sh*thole, is stupid, not a good look for the President. What's also not a good look are you guys continually trying to excuse him.

Really? How many people do you know have vacation homes in Haiti? The only Americans that go there are contractors and missionaries.

Aid sat on the docks for months b/c the Gov is corrupt and demanded payment to for each box / container that landed or was moved off the dock.

BTW, those American shit-holes your describing have been run by democrats for decades.

You just think vacation homes? I'm sure there are plenty of people living in homes just like we do. Some of the poorest states are actually run by Repubs, Google it, a lot of Southern states.

Then, what does any of that have to do with labeling whole countries as shitholes? Intellectually lazy.

Assholes liberals faining outrage b/c President Trump spoke the truth when he called 3rd world countries shit holes...

You're making the wrong argument. The right argument is why shouldn't we take people from those shit holes? They make the best Americans!

We're a melting pot not a salad bowl. You might have Irish or Mexican heritage but when you become and American, that's what you are.

Reagan knew that. He also knew unrestricted mass immigration isn't a viable policy. It's bad for poor and middle class Americans, who should be our Governments first priority.

Just pointing out what he said was stupid, and the people trying to smooth it over, stupid as well. You don't have to defend everything. Don't always act like some puppet with this need to defend every stupid thing he does and says.

Whole countries aren't shitholes. Plenty of places look just like American big cities, rural, suburbs, etc.

This idiot is so outdated and irrelevant to entertainment now and just trying to get free promotion. He should go visit Port Au Prince and see firsthand, as should anybody else with money for bodyguards.
And preferably stay there...

This satellite image of the Island of Hispanola shows very clearly the contrast between Haiti (left) and the Dominican Republc (right) The devastation of the forest is startling. Only bad things can happen when you destroy a large forest. The mudslides in CA in the last few day is a direct result of the forest fires.

Sometimes a photograph says more than a thousand words. This is one of those images. Haiti is on the left and the Dominican Republic is on the right. This is not just the fault of successive corrupt and useless governments, but also of the people, who cut all the trees down till there's nothing left.

A barren land that is easily prone to all kinds of disasters, except for forest fires, since there is no forest left to burn. What a lack of vision or even common sense.

DEFORESTATION: BORDERLINE DESTRUCTIVE

Taking a flight across the Hispanola island border of Haiti, at left to the west, and the Dominican Republic, at right to the east, can yield a startling observation - a sheer contrast between a barren, deforested land and a thriving forest ecosystem.

Haiti has long been stripped of its once flourishing treetop cover. Demands for charcoal and other economic benefits in early 20th century Haiti prompted the deforestation of its land. Haitiโ€™s environment remains one of the most devastated in the modern world. Only 30% of the land is arable, and a plan to eradicate poverty recoiled to be a chief cause of poverty in Haiti.

One of the most detrimental results of this deforestation lies in erosion and soil loss. Haitiโ€™s forests were key in protecting against erosion, and following their disappearance, soil loss became widespread in Haiti. Karst topography is very important in filtering infectious agents in the water. Because Haiti is mainly composed of karst topography, a majority of its water is far less safe to drink, especially in a third-world nation lacking water purification. Haitiโ€™s tropical forests used to act as a climate controller, absorbing rain. Oppositely, rain storms are now magnified into massive storms ravaging the barren landscape.

The Dominican Republicโ€™s ecosystem, as pictured, is clearly quite different. It is described as a โ€œmass of entangled foliageโ€, with forests and other vegetation constructing a continuous canopy of green. Wildlife is quite diverse, and the Dominican Republic faces little of the deforestation problems that Haiti encounters today.

This was the photo I wanted find. Here is inside a lobby. The column is very accurately done if you were to see it up close. All was hand formed concrete in 2010, none was like the US construction tract home, crappy phony styrofoam (construction prefab with sprayed on stucco) like architectural elements in the USA. The ceiling moulding trim, hand done as well in cement, not wood or styrofoam- all Haitian craftsmen working for hours. Economically impractical in the states.

@GILSAN Interesting deforestation issue. I wonder who they sold the trees to? Were the Clintons involved in that mess too?

https://www.gop.com/how-the-clintons-hurt-haiti/

The Clintons self serving interest is global.

Rodham Also Served On The Board Of A US Mining Company That Won One Of Two Haitian Gold Mining Permits, Which Was Later Placed On Hold. "Controversy surrounding the Clintons only deepened with the recent revelation, contained in an upcoming book by Peter Schweizer, that Tony Rodham - Hillary Clinton's younger brother - serves on the advisory board of a U.S.-based company that in 2012 won one of Haiti's first two gold-mining permits in 50 years. After objection from the Haitian Senate, the permits have been placed on hold." Haitians have a lot of potential with better leadership, I did not download these from some website, these photos I took and have seen the work in person. Looking at the mainstream media trash dumps like those in Manila, leaves this impression that the entire place is shithole. Maybe Haiti is, I have not been there. But in another country- the DR, you can see given economic freedom to work, there is potential in the people, as you can see in the above photos.

It's the gov't, leadership and lack of economy due to lack of trust, corruption and other issues, that is the problem. Just like the states.

No, the Clintons had nothing to do with the deforestation of Haiti. It was already in that state well before the 7.0 earthquake of 2010. Probably one of the reasons why the death toll was so high. Lots of landslides occurred because of the quake, which would not have happened, had the island been covered in forest. They don't know the exact numbers but estimate anywhere between 230-250.000 dead.

Shoddy construction of buildings and houses was another factor for such a high death rate.

The Clinton Foundation are apparently involved in some shady business there, which the Haitians don't appreciate. Naturally the US Liberal Media keep quiet about it. Wouldn't want to say bad things about Billy & Co. would they?

But.... if it was Trump doing anything in Haiti, you can bet your bottom dollar we'd be hearing about it constantly. They would be turning every stone, digging up every grain of sand and combing over any speck of dust or mud they could find, or they would invent something to keep their sh*tholes busy with BS...

Chelsea loves the Haitian people. They paid for her wedding, after all.
Chelsea Clinton used the Clinton Foundation's resources "for her wedding", an aide to former US President Bill Clinton wrote in 2012, according to emails released by WikiLeaks.

They appear to show that Doug Band emailed John Podesta, chairman of Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign, urging him to "speak to her and end this".

"The investigation into her getting paid for campaigning, using foundation resources for her wedding and life for a decade, taxes on money from her parents..." Mr Band wrote.

"I hope that you will speak to her and end this. Once we go down this road..."
