I remember many Republicans acting like they were, what happened? It's like you guys threw Conservatism and morality out the window. Now you're just NRA and corporate puppets.

What do you want GOP to do JB? Magically wave a want and make it better?

We've had two consecutive quarters of >3% growth. I think the best way to recover from a 22 Trillion debt is a robust growing economy.

You keep doing what was working, you don't come in and mess with that. But the GOP will own all of this now, good or bad. So we shall see.

What's the latest news with the health care issue? Mandate is now gone, what is the GOP going to do with all of that? All this stuff he's messing with is going to come back.

While i agree the deficit is a huge problem, I don't remember many democrats being concerned about it before 2016.
I remember Repubs being VERY concerned about every additional penny - why are they adding so much to it? There's no need.
You don't give tax cuts in a good economy. The economy is doing well, - what they're doing is economically unsound. The tax bill won't increase wages, it will make health insurance, education, and home ownership for the average person more expensive. And you know they're going to try to pay for it by raiding medicare, medicaid and SSI (Ryan already said as much) - which are lifelines for the most VULNERABLE (<- using one of those forbidden words) in our society.
So all of a sudden, why is this deficit not a big deal to them? Political interests and backers - they are the ones who benefit.

I wasn't aware the deficit wasn't a concern now.

unsound.

There is more than one path to prosperity. Personally, I think a limited Gov approach is the most efficient.

Letting people keep more of their own money is better then the Gov spending on pet projects like Solar One, or electric sports cars or energy projects in the desert that failed decades ago.

The tax bill won't increase wages,

It's not an increase, you just keep more of what you make. If the economy improves, wages should go up.

it will make health insurance, education, and home ownership for the average person more expensive. And you know they're going to try to pay for it by raiding medicare, medicaid and SSI (Ryan already said as much) - which are lifelines for the most VULNERABLE (<- using one of those forbidden words) in our society.

I'll just disagree.

Most of us won't be keeping more of what we make. Health insurance premiums (which are already outrageous) will go up, a lot of "middle class" deductions are going away. The up front cuts for individuals expire in 2025. Corporate ones remain.

When home ownership costs go up (property tax and mortgage deduction limitations) it will affect the housing market.

More disturbing, why are they rushing this through? Something this drastic - and it is the biggest change in a couple of generations - should be studied for potential impact and receive adequate time and opportunity for everyone to read, discuss and negotiate.. again - there's no urgent need to hurry this through. So why?

Wait... Obama told us the avg family would save $2,500 a year on medical insurance.

If it was up to me, there would be one, single page tax form for everyone and everything.

No deductions. Pay a percentage based on the size of your IMMEDIATE family and income.

One and done.

The CDC was banned ... BANNED ... from using seven words: The forbidden words are โ€œvulnerable,โ€ โ€œentitlement,โ€ โ€œdiversity,โ€ โ€œtransgender,โ€ โ€œfetus,โ€ โ€œevidence-basedโ€ and โ€œscience-based.โ€

They were given a suggested replacement:
"Instead of โ€œscience-basedโ€ or โ€œevidence-based,โ€ the suggested phrase is โ€œCDC bases its recommendations on science in consideration with community standards and wishes."โ€

Which doesn't come close to the same meaning. "Community standards and wishes?" Science is science, evidence is evidence.

Seriously. I literally give you the link. The news of this is all over. And you still struggle.

I am not replying to the false equivalences or misstatements used as lame arguments to my earlier point.

HHS also got the newspeak memo - in addition to the 7 words previously noted they are no longer allowed to call the ACA by its legal name (Affordable Care Act) - they are only supposed to refer to it as Obamacare. That's blatant politicalization and probably illegal. Definitely unethical.

State department is no longer allowed to say "sex education." They now have to call it "sexual risk avoidance." Once again, not the same thing.

Obama, John Brennan and Ben Rhodes helped Islamic terrorist with an illegal drug distribution network and money laundering scheme, while giving their state sponsor, Iran, billions of USD in cash.

Obama administration derailed an ambitious law enforcement campaign targeting drug trafficking by the Iranian-backed terrorist group Hezbollah, even as it was funneling cocaine into the United States, according to a POLITICO investigation.

Shocking no-one, Obama cared more for Iran than America.

Womenโ€™s March organizer accused of covering up sex abuse

women-convention_.jpg

Linda Sarsour, controversial Muslim activist and Womenโ€™s March organizer Linda Sarsour bullied an underling to cover up sex-abuse allegations in her Brooklyn office, a report said.

Asmi Fathelbab told blog The Daily Caller that a man repeatedly rubbed his crotch on her while she worked for the association under Sarsour in 2009.

But when Fathelbab reported the abuse, Sarsour โ€” a self-proclaimed feminist and co-founder of the Womenโ€™s March organization โ€” fat-shamed the woman and threatened to blacklist her from political jobs, the woman told the website.

โ€œShe oversaw an environment unsafe and abusive to women,โ€ said Fathelbab. โ€œWomen who put [Sarsour] on a pedestal for womenโ€™s rights and empowerment deserve to know how she really treats us.โ€
