Saw a total of about 10 minutes. Seems like the moderators made a terrible job, asking dumb questions totally unrelated to what a political debate should be, like Fantasy Football. What else can we expect from CNBC?

Because it was on the 'stock channel' the debate was heavy on business and taxes. Only stats I saw after the debate has Trump and Carson leading the debate, Bush not improving.

Here is the best solution: Ted Cruz suggests GOP debates should be moderated by Republican voters and the next debate should be moderated by Sean Hannity, Mark Levin and Rush Limbaugh.

Why on earth Republican candidates keep on accepting being moderated by Liberal Media is really incomprehensible. It's like putting a fox in a hen house.

Liberal journalists are simply too biased against conservatives. They should be ashamed of being called journalists.

They already had one moderated by Fox, they were crying about that one as well. Too much whining. Maybe they should have one modded by their Super Pacs and lobbyists.

Your theory may be right, though I'm more inclined to believe it's the Media that has manipulated the poll numbers, to piss off Trump coming into the debate.
BTW @johname I'd appreciate if possible, if you could put up a link were I can watch the debate

Unfortunately, the litmus test for the media is viewers/ratings, so they are going to do whatever they can to bring out the worst in any candidate, hoping they will say something that hits all the other news channels and keeps their brand on the air. Liberals or Conservatives, it's bad that the news services are asking the kinds of questions that are designed to get the most mileage for their news program and not what would help people pick who to vote for. I'm surprised none of the candidates walked off the stage to protest the questions and attitudes shown by the "moderators."

Have to agree with you, except for one thing. In all these debates the moderators are much more aggressive against Republicans. Their intentions are obvious since they are Liberal journalists. They pit Republican candidates against each other with their pathetic questions in order to weaken them and make them look ridiculous to the public.

The Democrats would never allow Fox news to moderate their debates, so it's time the Republicans do the same and get unbiased journalists that lets the candidates explain their policies to the public. Simple as that.

I understand the next debate is supposed to be done by that slimy biased snake called Rachel Maddow of MSNBC. They should cancel that and get some real journalists ask important relevant questions.

Shame on these journalists!

I think I know where they came up with their questions....

I think the reality is far worse - the politicians are answering questions to get voters. It doesn't matter what the question is (and I'm sure they are scripted). Be honest, do you think the average person standing on the stage this time could provide a nuanced opinion on the current global economic impact of the fed not raising interest rates? Or the current implications of the price of oil in US-Russian politics? Do you think the average viewer knows?

This is your average commentary these days:

"So what do you think the best approach to the crisis in Syria is?"
"Build a wall...Send the Africans home!"

One of the reasons that I liked Megyn Kelly in the first debate is that she seemed to pin the candidates down a bit on substantive issues. I think if she had had a chance to grill the democrat candidates for a couple of hours, it would have been quite revealing as well.

The hardest class I took in college was a history class. The professor did not have us turn in homework, nor did we have any tests until the final. On the last day, he reserved a room for the entire day, had us meet there in the morning, handed us several notebooks with which to fill our answer with, and he asked one question, which was 100% basis for our grade. On the chalk board he wrote, "What was the economic, social, political and military history of Eastern Europe in the 20th Century?" I may have screwed the question up a bit since then, it has been 30 years after all.

But, you get the idea. The only way we will really get an impression of what they really know, is to grill them mercilessly and force them to remain focused on the question, not on what they want to talk about.

You might consider the consequences of your solution before announcing it as "excellent."

The consequences of my solution would mean less of these ungrateful, invading freeloaders, whose main reason to invade Europe is to milk the system, create havoc and enforce Sharia Law as their population grows.
