How many American Textbooks explain that it was Black warlords and chiefs that abducted, captured, and kidnapped Africans before selling them as slaves to the white traders?
How about if African countries and their leaders apologized to their fellow countrymen for the evil committed against their own brothers and sisters?
How about American school books show the whole truth which means sharing the blame in the evil Slave trade?
Remember... it takes two to tango.
The whole history of slavery is only explained from the moment the slaves were put on the boats and send to the Americas. But... nothing is being explained on how they arrived there? where were they captured? Who captured them? How many millions died en route from the African interior where they were captured to the ports where the Slave Traders were waiting with their boats?
Is this part taught in American History books about the Slave Trade? I'll bet NOT.
Ever heard of the Barbary Pirates? They were Muslim pirates from North Africa that roamed the whole of the West Mediterranean and N. W. African coast, seizing thousands of ships and raiding towns along the coast,
capturing and kidnapping close to 1.2 million Christian Slaves (they didn't trade.... they just captured them and took them away)
These captured Christians were then sold as slaves in North Africa, which at the time was part of the Ottoman Empire.

Madeira Island, where I live was a victim of dozens of their attacks. They landed, looted our villages, captured and kidnapped many hundreds of mostly young women who were then sold in North Africa to rich Arabs and Berbers as sex slaves in their harems.
Having white women in their harems was the icing on top of the cake.
It's time Hollywood did a movie about the Barbary Pirates, without twisting the facts around.
