I guess my reply, would be so what? So what if the richest 80 people own half the wealth in the world? Is someone proposing that it is okay to take somebody else's stuff just because they have more than you? Is it okay to steal simply because the other guy has more than you think he really needs? At what level of theft does stealing from someone else evolve from a crime to a self justifying act of moral imperative?
Make no mistake, that's -exactly- what Obama and his ilk think, that the rich have more than they know what is good for them, so let's just steal that money via legislative fiat, and transfer their wealth into -our- hands, and we will distribute that wealth as we see fit, to our campaign dono--- errr, to our voting blo--- errr, to those in need, yeah, to those in need, that's the ticket.
How did the wealthy get wealthy anyway? At some point in time, either they, or an ancestor decided they were tired of being poor, and they clawed their way out of poverty via innovation, skill development or sometimes simply via brute strength and endurance. Maybe they only clawed their way up to lower middle class - but the next generation continued the trend.
Bill Cook, the founder of Cook, Inc., built his first medical innovations in his bath tub, for God's sake.
Life isn't about taking other people's stuff - it's about earning your own.
