Democrat Party has been taken over by far left liberals that do not represent the majority of democrats anymore, so fix your own house there, pal.

Far left? The current Democrat Party is very central, imho. The Republicans seem to be in two minds (as I stated earlier before being told to get my house in order?!! I don't have a house) - some are further right (making it seem more left, perhaps) and some also centrist so that the gap between them is actually not that great.

The situation is similar in the UK where the Labour and Conservative parties have almost crossed over in certain aspects.

Who do you consider far left and why? How about posting a list?

I think far left from the far right thinking, which makes them pretty moderate. It's funny hearing people talking about this when most liberals wish Obama wasn't so moderate.

One thing I don't understand is why early voting is allowed 6 weeks before election day. A few days I can understand, but 6 weeks???? D-:

Doesn't that defeat the reason for having an election on a certain date? :-/

What is likely to change in that time?

Most people made up their mind when they were 18 then again when they were in their 30s and then for the last time in their 50s.

I understand Michelle Obama mailed her absentee vote today. I'm fairly sure she won't change her mind between now and November.

Yeah, I've seen some early reports this is favoring Obama. I think once people see lying, they don't need to see much more of it or more they already know who they're voting for.

Round 2 tonight.

Sheesh....Only 15 minutes into the debate, and I'm about ready to puke. Both candidates are promising the world.

Looked like a Draw to me. Both candidates had ups and downs. Obama ended up with 3 min. 15 sec more time than Romney.

Early Polls on this debate:

CBS Poll
Obama 37
Romney 30
Tie 33

CNN
Obama 46
Romney 39

Obama
better 73%

Romney
better 37%
worse 28%

We still have one more, where I don't think anything new will come out really. Next Monday:

Bob Schieffer (Host of Face the Nation on CBS) - October 22, 2012 - Foreign policy

The most memorable parts of the debate are when Romney tried to confront Obama directly and got embarrassed.

1.) When Romney asked if Obama checked his portfolio, he had a very witty response that the audience liked.

Romney sought to turn the tables on Obama, trying to remind him he, too, has investments in Chinese companies. "Do you look at your portfolio?" Romney repeatedly asked.

However, Obama got a chuckle from the audience when he shot back with a quick-witted reply.

"My pension isn't as big as yours," Obama said. "So, I don't check it as often."

2.) But the moment that will be remembered the most is when Romney tried to confront Obama about his statement on Libya.

He thought he was going score points, but got embarrassed when Candy Crowley fact checked him.

Yep

"...it took the President 14 days before he called the attack in Benghazi an act of terror."--Willard Romney, 10-16-12

"No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character, or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for. Today we mourn four more Americans who represent the very best of the United States of America."--Barack Obama, 9-12-12

This is also starting to turn on the Republicans using Benghazi to attack the President, from listening to some undecided voters talking about it. Reality is this kind of stuff has happens under every President.

I believe that both parties are to blame for the economic situation that we are in. Something tells me that Romney has this one won though.

"Binders full of women"

Doesn't he make himself sound like Mr. Equal Rights?

Wrong.

The study he claimed HE did was actually done by MassGAP - a bipartisan WOMENS group - prior to his being elected. Concerned about the lack of women in senior government office, THEY gathered information on qualified candidates and presented it to him AFTER he was elected.

He never requested for the information or the research. He then appointed some of those women to be heads of unimportant committees.

Edge goes to Obama (good move - ending the night with a reminder of the 47% comment), but they were both "spinning" like tops (and neither one directly answered any of the questions.)
