Ann Coulter brought up some history from the 50's and 60's civil rights movement. I don't like Ann but she's right, quoting from historical records and biography from an important person in the civil rights movement.

The NRA helped southern blacks assert their right to own guns and use them for protection. Just like Oregon militia use weapons to protect private property rights from over zealous federal government.

You’re talking about the Heller ruling (which was a 5-4 decision, if you want to nit pick)
Do you know that ruling also listed “presumptively lawful” regulations which (among other things) include a ban on weapons “not typically possessed by law-abiding citizens for lawful purposes?” That’s pretty vague, but why wouldn’t weapons designed for military use to quickly take out a lot of enemy combatants, fall into that category?
