That would be interesting, but it will never happen. The Iranians aren't going to expose their pet politicians who they paid good money for. They would be useless to them after that, and the Iranians would find it harder to buy more politicians in the future.

Thune and Cornyn both told me they‘ll ask Trump about his ZTE tweet and saving Chinese jobs. Cornyn: “My main concern is they’re an arm of the Communist Party and are actively involved in espionage .. It’s not just strictly a trading or jobs issue - there’s more to it than that.”

ZTE was fined $1B for violating US sanctions imposed. Trump has motive for wanting to help ZTE. Could China be providing funds for Trump O project ?

The problem is, give an inch, take a mile. There haven't been any real consequences for the stuff he does. His supporters, support him no matter what. They don't hold him to any bar.
