I've always said I'm socially liberal, because I'm a believer in personal freedom, Republicans aren't and when it comes to business, I'm middle of the road or even a step to the right. When did the Republicans stop caring about blowing up our deficit? Trump seems to think things are going great now, so why change it? Besides him making all kinds of money with the Tax Plan.

McCain is a yes vote. Looks like this thing is going to pass.

R's stopped worrying about the deficit when GW Bush became President and started again when Obama became President.

Economy under O was slow, mostly b/c of his policies. Just like economy under Trump is growing b/c of polices. The first is socialist / marxist the second is a capitalist.

How many hundreds of billions did President Obama flush on green energy pipe dreams? Trillion $$ boondoggle on crap like $250k electric sports cars.

With any President, you're basically still living under the previous one's for awhile. It takes awhile to develop policy, enact it and to see the results of it. In Bush's last year, the Unemployment rate shot up 3% and then he handed the worst economy since the Great Depression over to Obama, hence that rate still going up, all the way up to 10%. I still can't believe it got that high but again, Obama inherited a straight mess. Then it leveled off and started going back in the right direction. And then handed over to Trump. Even in his first month he was taking credit for things going good in the economy. Ridiculous.

So, if you feel things are going good now, why change it all? And if things start to go in the other direction, you guys on the right will take responsibility for it, right? Because you control everything now, going to enact all your stuff. You want to mess with people's health care, mess with the internet, mess with taxes etc. You have to own it if things go bad.

Economy doesn't turns on a dime, except on the way down. Bush left a mess, but it wasn't all of his. Frank, Dodd, Schumer et all, share some responsibility.

Policies still matter. If you listen to fox biz and cnbc, there was a noticeable increase in optimism regarding the economy when Trump won. Business expects a tax cut and repatriation of funds held in foreign banks.
