Not many, but then not many people idolize Trump the way people tend to idolize Democratic candidates. It's enough that he gets in and starts to break the entrenched system, which he will - whether he intends to or not.

Not many people idolize Trump? It's on some crazy level, cult of personality type stuff. Trump knows this, hence his -he can go out and shoot somebody and they would still support him- comment.

As far as Russia, would they rather have:
a. somebody they can manipulate/control
b. somebody they can't

Putin wants the leader thats most unlikely to haul weapons and solders over to Russia's neck of the woods.

Putin knows that would be Hillary. As she is a) A democratic and b) like Obama is more interested in social change than increasing and using the military.

Putin is smart enough not to publicly denounce a US politician that isn't verbally attacking him.

But he would rather have Hillary.
