Smart move by Victor Orban, the right wing Hungarian President, who says he'd much rather help his own people, to increase the countries population, instead of importing millions of illegals and refugees, like so many other countries in Europe have been doing, and which are having disastrous consequences on our culture with all the violence and terrorism they've bought with them.
I think the whole thing about needing more babies is a scam. Governments everywhere are underwater in debt. They won't be able to pay all those glorious pensions or continue providing all their great "free stuff" to the voters unless the population continually increases... forever.
In other words, a drop in population means their Ponzi scheme is exposed, with some serious social disruption and hardship for everyone. Increasing the population just postpones the day of reckoning, which will only get worse the longer it is put off.
Meanwhile more population means means more destruction of the environment, more conflict, overfishing, clean water shortages.... it will be a much worse and much more protracted problem that simply dealing with the debt now. That's not gonna be fun either, but at least it can be done in a generation or so.
If Hungary wants to increase its population, the government needs to stop holding the economy down. Any Hungarian with ambition and smarts leaves the country.
There is literally no good reason for the mass immigration we have seen in the UK, Germany, etc. It's only there to prop up the corrupt governments a little longer. Merkel wants to live the rest of her life in comfort - she doesn't care what happens after she is gone. She doesn't even have any kids to worry about.
I read a bit about life in Europe after the Plague swept through. I was curious about what the effects of such a population loss were. Turns out, life was pretty nice in the centuries following the plague. People had nice homes, workers got paid well....
Population decline is necessary. Mass immigration of people who have no desire to assimilate is madness. The problem is, if you look at a chart of birthrates, is that almost all developed countries have declining birthrates, while some of the poorest and most disorganized countries in the world have booming birthrates. Most of them are going to want to flee their countries, where there is little opportunity and not much security. Which might be one thing if they were eager to accept the values of their new country. But many it seems want to bring over the values of their own failed country.
Pick up any book on animal species and their population boom and bust cycles. It's pretty obvious where we are headed. The only question is how we get there. With planning and wisdom, we can reduce population without much pain at all. Unfortunately, that requires planning and wisdom....
