Domaining is no different than collecting baseball cards.
Of course not, but what TLD is meant for domainers ?
Before you can sell something, there has to be demand. All you have to do is get a chart of which TLD has the most registrations. The TLD at the top is worth the most and the most valuable to domainers. If it is desired, it is meant for domaining. The real question that should be asked is this.
Is TEL valuable enough to be of interested to domainers? Right this second, I don't think it is. Right now, it is a small business tool. In that function, it does well.
Domaining and domainers as words are problematic. All we really are is domain collectors who are domain collecting. Your question really means, what TLD is good for domain collectors?
IMO, Domaining is no different than collecting baseball cards. You want the card everyone else wants. That's the card that costs the most and has the most resell value. The new cards of untested rookies are speculative cards. With these cards, you have to WAIT for years to find out if they are going to be valuable. The players on these rookie cards have to prove themselves first. They have to become well known first.
In this case, TEL is a rookie card. Will it become a household word like COM, NET and ORG? That's hard to say. It might and it might not. A lot depends on the players, the TEL registry and how hard they push innovation. Are they up to the task? I don't know. Ask me in 5 years. Somebody has got to start hitting some home runs and breaking some records. Being a TLD isn't enough to be valuable. TEL has to become a TLD that people WANT or it is just a novelty.
By the way, I like TEL. I sure wouldn't spend $70,000 on a bunch of them. I do like the few I have. I don't plan to try to sell them anytime soon.

I personally think they should open .tel for normal hosting, still they can keep their concept of global tel directory with sub domain.
so tel.yourdomain.tel as global tel directory page, yourdomain.tel for our personal site.
Or you could have an either or option. You log-in to your account, click a check box that says:
Host with Us or
Host Yourself. Done. I think you are right. This would help immensely.
