Hi

For this, let's assume that .tel will not be a total flop.

What type of keywords will be most valuable for this extension? Will it be geographical keywords, like newyork.tel, losangeles.tel, etc, or what else?

One if my Adult Name .tel is

Alexa Traffic Rank 6,121,885

is that good or bad?

Alexa Traffic Rank 6,121,885 is a very low ranking, for what Alexa is worth. IMO anything below the top 50K is not significant.

".tel" sites with the best Alexa rankings

I tweeted about the ".tel" sites with the best Alexa rankings here.

Given what .tel is for, Alexa rank seems pretty meaningless.

But only one .tel almost being in the top 250,000 has to be pretty bad news for the .tel "development" crowd.

 That's getting kind of boring. You've got a few hundred posts saying the same thing. You obviously don't like TEL. Great. Now get over it. Your constant anti-postings are not going to make TEL go away.

If the blind pumpers had the ability to dissect much of the negative info posted here by various people, you would understand that it's not all the same thing.

One thing that has been the same are the replies to such posts.... flames, "naysayer!", an inspirational quote or the inability to reply at all. There have been many business oriented posts critical of .tel, yet I can't recall one single business oriented reply to them in favor of .tel. A random inspirational quote is by far the most popular way for pumpers to counter such posts.

I am no pro at this... and certainly don't know every .tel out there, so I was curious about your above quote.

I typed in some random .tel sites... Just whatever came into my head.. here are some results..

ALEXA RANK @ 10pm PST Jan 01 2010

Sex.tel Rank #1,834,923
Taxi.tel Rank #4,515,521
Hoes.tel Rank #6,141,433
Shop.tel Rank#9,444,201
Celebrity.tel Rank#2,713,027... U.S. Rank# 994,076
F**k.tel (fill in the blanks) Rank #13,752,879
Listings.tel Rank #24,058,466
Mall.tel Rank#15,750,400
Car.tel Rank #23,090,452
Taxis.tel Rank #27,106,527
Buy.tel Rank#17,948,573
Sell.tel Rank #17,962,886

There no doubt are many more ranked by Alexa... and some could be better ranked than Sex.tel. Do the sites which are listed above have phenomenal rankings? No, not really in my opinion.. save a few. But what it does show, is that Dub is speaking before doing his/her own research. When Dub says that only 1 .tel is almost in the top 250 000 Alexa ranked sites, and I can spend 5 minutes typing in random words and come up with the list above... it makes me wonder why Dub made this particular remark.

Don't get me wrong Dub, I do think that you have made some astute observations and possibly offered some decent advice/info at times... but then, on other occasions you come out with completely unfounded statements, hoping (I expect) that others who have read some of your meaningful posts, will then believe your garbage posts. This behaviour, as some of us who play the stock markets know, is classic "basher" behaviour. Now, having said that... I am not "pumping" this particular extension (although I do own a few myself), but rather, expressing my curiosity as to why someone like Dub would take it upon him/herself to go on a bashing mission such as this. Furthermore, does he/she really feel that he/she is making a difference? Is Namepros the place to be for one man/lady to sink an entire internet extension?

Interesting.....

I find it is easy to make .tel more popular by google.
About 1.5 months ago,I spend 2 hours to make a domain list use gdh.tel of chinese and copy some data to whom.tel of English.
I do nothing to google.Even not register to google.just let it be.
Recently,I suddenly find the two .tels all rank alexa 2.8million.
To my surprise, PR gdh.tel now 1,PR whom.tel now 2.

Not ads, don't delete this post. I do not care the traffic and PR,just tell people know.

Not sure to why some people think Alexa is important what we need to see is Hits and Traffic coming to our .tel domains with telstat, the google Page Rank and Ranking on google

MarineParts.tel is PR 3 in less then 6 months

Hello Folks,

When 90% of phones will be connected to internet, and phone number converted to phone adress name , .tel will perfectly suit the need to convert phone adress name to number. ( +33.245654875 become firstname-lastname.tel)

http://207.46.225.250 is shorter than http://support.microsoft.com but harder to remember
Just imagine the same with phone number.
Just imagine a world where domain name does not just apply to web, but also to phone numbers. :hearts:

This is the only bright future possible for .tel
Thinking about .tel as seo, webpage, ppc, search engine, alexa.... is obviously an error.

To me, the main enemy of .tel are webmaster and ppc guys. They will massibly drop their .tel

I bought mainly firstname .tel like mary.tel ... that will make nice phone adress name.

When telnic release new templates or other presentation stuff, i appear as a bad thing to me, as i make domainer focus on presentation aspect.

I am waiting for the day when Iphone will be able the nativly resolve .tel domain ( without third party program or nasty plugins/adddons...)

In 2020, if mary.tel can not be resolved nativly by phone equipment, i will consider my .tel investment as a failure. %%-

Best regards

Regards

Ok I'm curious...What happens in 2012?

The end of the world..... Or, at least that's what some people say.... I believe it's on the winter solstice in December... This is mainly based on the Mayan Calendar which has been accurately predicting cosmic events for thousands of years... and then.. mysteriously... it just ends.. in December of 2012! OMG! Some people have even paralleled Nostradamas's predictions with Mayan predictions to "beef" up the story.. It's all very exciting!

Wendy, being from Penticton, you should tune your AM dial to CKNW. If you are up late... I mean REAL late... you can tune in to the "Coast to Coast After Dark" show (previously the "Art Bell" show), they are consantly discussing things like this, as well as conspiracy theories, UFO's, ghosts, and other strange stuff.
