Hi

For this, let's assume that .tel will not be a total flop.

What type of keywords will be most valuable for this extension? Will it be geographical keywords, like newyork.tel, losangeles.tel, etc, or what else?

The ultimate question is, has anyone made a dime of revenue off a .tel yet?

I have invested in some .tel, but honestly have not had time to do much or anything with them due to too many other current projects and goals. i guess i am taking a back seat and waiting for someone else to prove the model

but really, all the talk of seo, traffic, etc is moot unless it can be monetized. so the real question, to me is, who has so far made some revenue from .tel? anyone? and if so can you share what you've done? thanks

You got the

murman.tel

city directory for 300.000 people, 200 paid listings.

Active promotion on TV and in local media.

SMS-based paid listings for the "Notice board"

Someone needs to tell these boneheads that there are added monetization options in doing this from a real domain.

if you made some money, then congrats

Hiya

I haven't made a great deal of money... but..... Saying that I haven't been working with this domain for a while either. I can not post the domain (Adult Name) So PM or work this Out>>> Les****.tel

A while back I created about 14 sublinks and on each page I put one web link and keywords..... Took about 2 hours to complete it.... I just did it so least the domain has something.

And the result was that the traffic was not bad (1072, and say about 12 off that was my own hits for tests.)

I did a screen shot..... any questions just ask

Totally revamped interface for .tel domains

.tel domains will soon have a brand new Web interface (TelProxy):

- new "look & feel", new background, new icons, ...
- ability to display a picture (photo, avatar, logo, etc.) on your .tel
- a TelPages search box in every .tel domain (to search this .tel or all .tel)
- direct secured access to TelHosting from every .tel domain
- Google Maps directly displayed (a map, not a link) on .tel domains
- ...

I'll tell you more on Twitter: follow me!

If the new look is nice, those news are dynamite for .tel!

Even if, the look is just a little better than the look today, it shows that they are acting on userfeedback and it proves that they can improve the look even further would it be needed.

Bring out the champagne :kickass:

The look is very cool indeed, in a "Web 2.0" way :D
More, you should soon be able to choose between different templates ...

I'm posting, but nothing is happening ?

Is this forum suddenly broken ?

No, nothings broken - other than rules.

So, Even if there is news and information that is 100% TEL related, it is not welcome here ?

Interesting. My post was 100% related to the Subject posted by other members, not some
blatent link to a parked page.

It appears that the "spirit of the rule" was mis-interpreted, that much can certainly be said !

Okay, then everyone interested in discussing .TEL features should check out Telnic's forum where
they have the same rules, but allow intelligent reference to the outside world.

My sincerest apologies.

If you want to advertise your 6 day old site with comments like "I just saw an article"
when it's yours :-/

Then by all means, use the Advertising Forum, not the .tel thread.

Huh ? So, if you own Google you can't reference it ?

What does THAT have to do with anything ?

I guess ALL questions and comments need posted in the Advertising Forum then !

If the comments or questions are about advertising, then yes.

But if I owned google, darn right I'd reference it - first comment being "it's mine"

I wouldn't pretend it's not.

I hope your not comparing the two?

OF COURSE I'm comparing the two, as are YOU, and I would NEVER begin with referencing it, and it has NOTHING to do with PRETENDING anything.

If I owned Google I would NEVER reference my association, as it would not be viewed objectively and be allowed to stand on it OWN merits REGARDLESS of ANYTHING else.

ONLY someone TRYING to self promote WOULD ever use that reference to suggest authority and use it to sway people's opinion as someone GREAT.

HI, I AM THE OWNER OF GOOGLE, CHECK ME OUT, I'M GREAT, SEE WHY YOU SHOULD USE IT.

Yeah, that's what's we need more of in forums.

I hope you're not suggesting that you're NOT comparing anything.

Bottom Line"

Referencing "agent" (promoter - paid or not) of any kind is advertising.
Not referencing "agent" of any kind is not advertising.

Non-reference does not make it "pretending" anything, regardless of who you are.

That makes anyone that references anything an "agent" and guilty of your rule violation.

It's simply NOT true !

Great news about the new .tel features.

Really looking forward to seeing the new templates.

It is a massive step in the right direction ans shows that Telnic are working behind the scenes to move .tel forward.

Regards

Gav

Absolutely. I noticed that you didn't disclose your relationship with Telnic.

Are you pretending, and advertising for Telnic ?

That goes in a different place I understand.

If you want a holiday, keep it up ;) You don't have to be rude to other members!

I just saw an article on the Telnic Forum for yoursitelinkedhere

it wasn't a link to the "article" on the forum that you "just saw"
it was a link to the site you just made?? Why not the article?
If it wasn't meant for promoting - why not the article?

There is nothing rude about what I wrote, it only conveys your "explanation" to me.

Does it only apply to me ?
_______________________________

My initial point, which was deleted for no valid reason, was that adding features to .tel
on the telpage was a direct contradiction to Telnic's whole creed - "Less is more."

If more is added to the Telpage, then it "trashes" the page and effort, just like Adverts.

The better way is a style where links are included for rich features and SEO benefit.

You can view it on Telnic's forum under Products and Services ...

The only article that addresses the whole point is the article on the telwxxxs page.

There is no article referencing the posts' point or I would have, just as I've done before, and in addition to something we're offering, just as I've done before, for objective decisions.

I understand what you're asking, now please understand it was legitimate.
