Hi

For this, let's assume that .tel will not be a total flop.

What type of keywords will be most valuable for this extension? Will it be geographical keywords, like newyork.tel, losangeles.tel, etc, or what else?

If you dislike the .tel so much why are you always posting on this thread and reading about it, it seems to me you do have lots of interest in the .tel otherwise you would not keep such a close eye on it.

I think that you must have some kind of softspot for it really, otherwise you would just forget about and wouldn't care if it is good or bad or even the future of it. I know as mentioned before, if I don't like certain extensions I couldn't care what happen to them or the future of them at alone keep reading the thread about them and posting my comments. It's just after reading lots of your posts they are so negative I can't understand why you want to keep reading about the .tel on this thread.

I love forums because you do always get a good range of opinions good and bad, but yours seem to keep coming everyday and always very negative.

Do you have a sweetspot for the .tel that we should all know about it ?

This is not a criticism in anyway or form, I am just intrigued in what makes you so involved in a .tel topic that you dislike so much.

Regards

Gav

Because it's not about .tel anymore, it's about the hard-core .tel domainers.
Very entertaining indeed :hearts:

It solves the problem only if like 90% of the population is willing to pay for a .tel, knows how to use it and does not procrastinate in keeping it updated.

Which will occur when a major mobile carrier partners with Telnic and begins to bundle .tel domains with its promotional packages. Do you understand that when this happens, a ten digit phone number will be nothing more than a numerical identifier behind each .tel domain? In some cases, a VOIP indentifier could even be embedded within the domain record itself, and there will be NO ten digit phone number at all!

Then you'll be dialing a name, phrase, quote, or other words, letters and/or numbers of your choosing - NOT a phone number. Think of the clever name possibilities for user registration. Combine that with smart phones capable of announcing the domain of the incoming .tel call, and suddenly we're all starting to have a little fun. The kind of fun that can quickly go viral!

Well Said WordWalker

Your post is spot on and I agree with everything you say.

A thumbs up from me and most of the others on this thread I would say.

Who said .tel have to be static?

A .tel does not have to be static, Two nice examples of what can be done with .tel.

watershed.tel – Bristol cinema with automated program updates

bigcity.tel - an .tel domain that automatically updates weather and activity information about big cities around the world.

Telnic to Present at Toronto Domain Conference Aug. 13-14

*

I have just received word from Justin Hayward, Communications Director at Telnic, that he will present at the Domain Convergence conference being held in Toronto August 13-14 at the Radisson Admiral Habourfront Hotel.

This is welcome news for all Canadian (and other) Telsters as we'll be able to hear and learn directly from one of world's foremost experts on Tel.

I also understand that there will be a few very important announcements that are sure to help you to build, monetize and more efficiently manage your Tel assets.

And rumor has it that there may well be Canada's first TelCamp to coincide with Domain Convergence. A TelCamp is similar to a BarCamp, which is an open, participatory workshop-like event, whose content is provided by the participants themselves. TelCamps are focused on discussing ways of promoting and developing Tel related technologies.

More coming very soon...

Cheers,

SOS1.tel, Emergency Phone Numbers International Directory

@Tribulatio @Shahid7 @jacpar @hullswingerscom

Sorry guys: I answered you a couple of days ago, but my post has been deleted and I got a warning from the moderator (NPQueen) ...

I asked for explanations but did not receive anything so far. In the meanwhile, I'm gonna keep my mouth shut until I fully understand the USSR-like moderation rules of this forum ...:(

TelCamp Toronto 1 Announced.

We've decided to bite the bullet and announce that we are preparing to host Canada's first TelCamp. The tentative date is August 15, 2009 at a downtown location to be announced shortly.

If you'd like to present, recommend topics for discussion or even contribute to help defray some of the costs, we'd love to hear from you.

All comments, updates etc should be posted here on Telsters and at the TelCamp website located here at: TelCamp - TelCampus

Cheers,
TelTrio

TelCamp in Paris (France)

I will organize (with a couple of French .tel enthusiasts) a TelCamp on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean (i.e. in Paris) at the beginning of November.
Henri Asseily (Telnic CTO) already promised me to attend  (we are both surfers)

It will (of course) be a French-speaking event and anyone interested in participating or sponsoring this event is welcome to directly contact me.

@OnSpec: I will be very thankful if you could share your experience and provide me with some feedback after your TelCamp in Toronto.

Yes, I love .tel. I post in here to bring people down and use another screen name to make lowball offers on their .tel's. I have a huge collection of them now and I'm a future .tel millionaire. It was the perfect plan. MUH HA HA HA

storage.tel recently sold on Sedo for $4k, so out of curiosity I checked up on the new registrant details and was pleased to see that it's now owned by Storage.com (Extra Space Storage). It's nice to see a company recognise the value of generic category domains, and .tel in particular.

Just for the record I think they got an absolute steal at that price. :tu:
