Hi

For this, let's assume that .tel will not be a total flop.

What type of keywords will be most valuable for this extension? Will it be geographical keywords, like newyork.tel, losangeles.tel, etc, or what else?

I have a hard time believing some of these sales. I'm not calling anyone liars, far from it actually.

Deja Vu anyone.

This afternoon while talking with a friend, he politely reminded me that we partnered on a couple of .Tel's. Oooops, slipped my mind! D-: One of the names that he mentioned that perked me up a bit, is......

GolfCourse.tel

I think this is a real gem! The Golf market is huge and I see potential in this name..

Agree? Disagree?

The singular format would have been a better fit, but this one is still worth high ($XXX) to low ($X,XXX).

Lexis what do you think:

Pharmacist.tel

Psychiatrist.tel

Gynecologist.tel

Obstetrician.tel

I would never attack anyone. My post was just suggesting all the hype going on with .tel. With the economy the way it is, I applaud everyone for making some nice $ with .tel.

There are though a lot of similarities with previous launches. While I congratulate everyone with their sales, I don't think .tel will be able to gain a solid footing. You can say it's different that other extensions (deja vu), but in the end I think it will be the same outcome.

Was just talking about this with plaggy.. there are quite significant differences with previous launches. Comparing say to a .mobi launch, where premium names were auctioned, some for massive prices due to hype that werent founded on reality.. .tel offered everyone the chance to acquire the same quality names for only a few hundred... so instead of prices going back down to the floor like with.mobi, they will steadily increase in time.

The catalog for the Silicon Valley T.R.A.F.F.I.C. auction has been published and it includes 13 .tel's.

Honestly, I think many of you will come out ahead with some descent $. I just caution everyone to not throw all their "eggs in one basket." Many of the .tel's registered don't fit the extension.

With regard to the traffic auction, good luck to the .tel holders.

I downloaded the domain list for the upcoming auction, these are the .tel's in the spreadsheet:

Cards.tel
Checking.tel
Chick.tel
Employee.tel
FindIt.tel
FrenchRiviera.tel
Heart.tel
Hire.tel
Homes.tel
Link.tel
Nyc.tel
Taco.tel
Truck.tel

Wasn't hire.tel on Sedo? Can someone clarify?

Saucey McGolfcourse...

Saucey, the domain GolfCourse would really fit the .com extension better unless you have a viable business plan in mind on monetizing this type of .tel.

If it's for a flip. the question to ask is:

1. What inherit value does this domain offer in regards to utilizing click-to-call technology?

2. Does it represent a majority marketplace (main category keyword) which can be monetized?

If this were my domain, I would implement preliminary branding to give the end buyer an idea of how to utilize, monetize this domain.

(e.g. golfclubs.golfcourse*tel)
(e.g. golfclothing.golfcourse*tel)

You get the idea......

Hey, Maybe you should target a private buyer like Golf.com. (this could yeild big bucks)

Thanks,

No pun intended!

The term Pharmacist is a highly sought after term that yields over 49,000 monthly searches and $1.66 CPC.

The key here is to target local GEO's & local pharmacist to make this domain work.
(e.g. NewYork.Pharmacist*tel)
(e.g. Greys-Pharmacy.NewYork.Pharmacist*tel)

If marketed correctly, this could bring in a modest revenue.

.TEL discussion - Improvements to the web interface

Just starting a new thread that hopefully gains some traction. I am busy busy building up my directory based .TEL sites, and am finding some real limitations in the webpage tools provided. I would like to know what others think, and see if we can get Henry etc to implement some suggestions... such as,

1. at the very root level, is it possible to NOT show subdomains in the list? we are able to hide emails, webpages, phone numbers etc, but why cant we hide the subdomain? ie the "go to" entry?

2. Can you provide a "seperator line" option? I need to seperate the top of a listing from the bottom of a listing.

3. Why cant the "header" be copied around to other subdomains, just like the entries, and keywords...

4. is it possible to tag a "place holder" on each list? so that a goto link would jump to a certain way down the next page shown?

etc etc.

I have a bunch of suggestions, but believe these are some biggies

cheers

Wow, and I thought some of the people in this thread were unrealistically optomistic :hehe:

I am in Spain, it is showing up #2 here. The term has almost no competition, there are only 18 other pages on the internet with "tahiti ecotours" in the title. However, it is interesting to see that it was indexed so quickly. Also, there are not enough searches for this keyword to show up on googles radar.

Cannot doubt the power of dot tel.

I just really fascinate that when type "store music hit" in Google.
My hit.tel is come up on the #2 rank.

Again, I tried "iowa american tel", another dot tel is up on the first page.

Dot tel could get a lot better price, after stat installed.
