For this, let's assume that .tel will not be a total flop.

What type of keywords will be most valuable for this extension? Will it be geographical keywords, like newyork.tel, losangeles.tel, etc, or what else?

Who's the lowest-cost & fastest.TEL registrar?

Hi, I have a couple of .TELs I want to register, but EnCirca is charging $18/yr, and I was under the impression its available for half of that (and hopefully less )

Also it takes EnCirca a long time to do the WHO IS look-up, so I'm looking to find the fastest registrar for checking availability and the cheapest registrar for registering them.

Any suggestions?

Third. Name.com is great - same company as DomainSite.
Great service, instant registration, and they accept CC/PayPal instantly.

Good company. Sadly my registrar of choice isn't offering the same .tel registration pricing as Name.com or I'd be recommending TierraNet ftw! :p

I believe the violation would come by allowing third parties access to modify domain subdirectories via API calls. Telnic's position is clearly stated that they see .TEL as a single contact point for individuals and business and not for hosting directory farms.

You can build your own management interface using the API so that advertisers can create and manage listings. The sub-delegation clause is meant to be read in a legal rather than technical sense, i.e. the registered owner must remain responsible for the domain - you can't "pass the buck" on to somebody else.

It's SOAP. There are some toolkits here. I'm building a Ruby abstraction, and I know of other developers doing similar things in other languages.

The SOAP endpoint is with your TelHosting provider.

I've started on a PHP + SOAP version but am currently stuck. Have an issue reg'd at the telnic dev forum. I can make it open source. Anyone else got PHP going?

As far as i have heard about the only thing you can do is make an archaic directory sort of site.
