Hi

For this, let's assume that .tel will not be a total flop.

What type of keywords will be most valuable for this extension? Will it be geographical keywords, like newyork.tel, losangeles.tel, etc, or what else?

Hey Andy, do you know where myspace is advertising this on their site? Or are they emailing this ad to all their members? I couldnt find anything about .tel on myspace when I looked yesterday.

.TV, just wanted to say your avatar annoys the hell out of me! The last thing I want to look at is Mr. Bean posing as the Mona Lisa, but unfortunately we live in a democracy, lol.
:tri:

I think they're just targeting the US market right now - I'm told they'll role out to Europe and elsewhere soon.

Here are some of the creatives they're running:

He managed to get all those, plus many more highly valuable generics, during the sunrise period. You can check here: http://sunrise.nic.tel/sunrise.cgi

He most likely registered many trademarks just for the purpose of acquiring those names, and Telnic accepted his sunrise applications. I don't think Telnic should have allowed this :|

Hmmmm....here is the app. info for NewYork.tel.... I'm curious about the "STATUS" at the bottom.... Does this mean even if it WAS a trademark.. the TM holder couldn't appeal or object anymore???????

Edit: I see that Daniel had indeed secured a TM in country "BX". hmm.

Correct. How many times do I have to post this link for the policy documents? :)

Obviously, trademark holders can still take disputes to the WIPO.

.tel is used for person or business have a easy way to manage and expose their communication and contact information, or used to attract traffic to their web site. If .tel can not be monetized in some way, it will not have a chance of success.

I think there are still many way to make money with dottel. for exmple cancel.tel which provide a easy way to get telephone numbers to report lost or stolen cards when someone lose their credit cards. It is very easy to remember cancel.tel , but it is difficult to remember your Credit card companies phone numbers, (do you remember any of them ?), and the good thing is that you can access this info from mobile phones, and immediately get the number and report it. This is a very efficient way, I think banks and credit card companies like this idea and avoid lots of loss. If many many people start using this service, Bank and Credit card companies may will to pay money to keep this service going.

Just think how much money they wasted (sunrise fees + TM fees).
The same trick has been done by other players when .eu was launched (ditto with .info back in 2001).
Guess what, I don't think they must be enjoying healthy returns today :laugh:

If the campaign was active at MySpace, I would expect to see it on this page:

http://www.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=mobile

They haven't yet added the .Tel announcement to their "PRESS" box either.

Hopefully, this will all happen soon...

Habaer,

Does your dottel directory accept bulk submissions?

Cheers,

Totally agree with Phase111 if I knew I can do like Daniel, I won't hesitate a second, to pay sunrise fee, TM fees (BX is maybe cheap fee for TM ) and get these domains.
It's no brainer, it worth 10 or even more what he paid for.
I'm sure anyone in the world (domainers) will like to get these so will he sell for US$10 000 I doubt he will.

So you're saying the usual sunrise "favorites" (we all know what they are) are still not worth anything in the .info or .eu extensions? I find that hard to believe. :|

sdsinc is basically saying that newyork.tel and others like it are each worth less than approx. $350 + whatever the TM registration fees were.

Just bizarre.

BX = Benelux trademark

0784158 = owner Traffic Web Holding B.V.
He got a licence for that trademark from that company, which is the owner of about 850 Benelux trademarks, used in the .eu sunrise.
