Hi

For this, let's assume that .tel will not be a total flop.

What type of keywords will be most valuable for this extension? Will it be geographical keywords, like newyork.tel, losangeles.tel, etc, or what else?

Only got 60% of my domains. Domainmonster told me based on past experience it could be around 90%. I missed some great names, but got some goodies to.

Yeah. I would be. I gave up looking pretty quick when every domain I checked was taken. I never planned on regging any .tel domains anyways as basically every new extention has been a flop but couldn't resist at least picking up my surname.

I looked up all my green checks (Domainmonster) at Telnic Whois, and they are all registered to me.

I printed all my Whois out, in case of a dispute.

All the orange checks were regged to others.

I think that will be the reality, unless someone doesn't pay or their CC does not go through.

If my regs hold, I snagged 36/53, and got some that I really needed.

So I can't complain.

Yes, I can see how Europeans might find chubby white girls covered in makeup attractive but any day of the week I see hundreds who leave the pudgy girl in the shade. :) .

Yes, I had this confirmed just now by my registrar. Only about 95 out of 140. Some really really good ones missed. But the misses are non-random. There is one alphabetical sequence of 7. And also the late registrations from the drop list are over-represented in the fails. This suggests a systemic failure. The mathematical chances of a 7 sequence are extremely low.

What are your thoughts on .tel now that it has officially launched? I think there is some potential with developments with this ext. However, I think people who bought a .tel looking for a quick flip so-to-speak have their work cut out for them.

I'm not saying it can't be done, but I imagine it will be harder to convince someone to buy a .tel since there is no real development - maybe it will make it easier, who knows?

Your thoughts...

To be honest I think .tel will kick serious domain ass... in the meantime, enjoy this awesome new .tel vid... http://no_url_shorteners/c42w4w

I think European and American men find all types of women sexy, but coat hangers are not sexy. Women who are too skinny often suffer from eating disorders and are not physically healthy.

That girl in the ad is healthy and fit and NOT chubby at all.

Also, she represents the kind of person who would jump on the .tel bandwagon; for sure, she will be calling ben.tel asap. And they will fall in

:xf.love:

;)

And will live happily ever after, in a two .tel household, with their baby .tels.

The MySpace/Domainmonster partnership is HUGE!

If only 10% bite, .tel will blow .com out of the water (from a numbers standpoint). Even if 1% reg .tel, it will still beat some of the gTLDs.

^ Awesome video! :p :music:

As always, do your due diligence & research beforehand ... and don't go overboard (or outside of your budget) with the new & highly brandable .TEL :talk: :imho:
Good Luck.

Just wanted to give a big thank you to Justin and his team for getting this up and running. They have been unbelievably responsive to people and I can now see they were saving some big announcements until GA.

.tel kind of reminds me of .tv: Both have sort of a built in niche, but neither go well as a purely generic extension. Sex.tel is great, but boots.tel is a bit off. Also, the new extensions that keep coming out appear to be generating more of a false economy that also dilutes the domain market in general.

.tel will enjoy the same success that .tv did....then it will settle down the same way, too. . . unless it's propped up by stuff like myspace/domainmonster....then it will be a bit more popular for a bit longer. That said, I wish the new owners of .tel domains the best of luck.

Hi, Jeff.

Did you bite yet? Even MicroGuy has regged a GA .tel.

For weeks, I have been looking at word lists, cpc lists, and crunching words through Google's Adword tool. [Exact] as opposed to broad.

I also tried to think of activities that one might do on the go while on the mobile phone, and threw some of those terms in as well, even though some of them may not yet have huge numbers.

My head is full of numbers.

I'm so glad Landrush is over.

That's a great commercial. I was tempted to have my own name.tel but then again.

Things seemed very messy at 11am today. Seeing so many already gone kind of made me wish I would have pre ordered a few, just for the hell of it. I don't have much faith in new extentions in general but picked up my surname and one other regardless. Realistically I doubt if .tel will go anywhere but I always wanted my surname in an extention and .tel seems somewhat fitting for that.

Apples and oranges.

With .tv, we have many huge corporate end users utilizing it to the full extent and giving awareness to millions of net users out there.

I say .tel is more close to .mobi but with not many corporate backers and restrictions on development (making an unique website).

IMHO, I think .tel will flop, but some people will make money (selling to other .telsters and on rare occasions ...end users)

I predict that we'll see a wave of ".tel for sale" threads with little or no interest in the future when the renewal is coming up.

Also, myspace isn't partnered up with .tel is it?
From my impression, I thought that they just purchased an ad package from myspace
http://www.myspace.com/yourAudienceIsHere

I was thinking about purchasing one generic .tel (I thought that it would at least go above the reg fee of $10.00), but it was taken.
