Yep. I feel exactly the same way. I get that they're playing to the balconies -- domaining is a sausagefest, with a few exceptions like ourselves -- but still.
Frankly, I don't think most domainers really care about or spend any time whatsoever worrying about gender diversity in the industry. Proof of point: just yesterday this topic came up in Bido's chat function, spurred by a video for Domaining.com that featured a woman with enormous boobs wearing a tight shirt that said Domaining.com on it (can't find the link anymore). And I made exactly the same point I made up above, because I'm a little tired of it.
I was practically shouted down by the cacophony of "You can just turn your computer off" and "I like laydeez" and "I'd rather not be surrounded by a bunch of dudes in Speedos instead." I mean I was shut down almost immediately and rather loudly, even though my point was never that I wanted to see a bunch of guys instead, just that it's cheap and not professional.
I think the attitudes are endemic and calcified, and that's sort of sad. Because beyond my personal opinions, let's face it, domaining doesn't have exactly the best reputation as an industry. And the way to clean it up isn't to make the industry look even LESS professional.
Anyway. Sorry for our semi-thread hijack.
